Extremely limited CM count
I completely forgot about that
Yup.
The only point I’m trying to make… US mains seems to be operating on this idea that the F22 will be totally untouchable. It won’t be
No amount of performance or sophistication will make up for lack of braincells.
However a good pilot in the F-22 (assuming its performance is at least vaguely accurate) will be damn near immortal.
That also assumes the public information is at all accurate, the 27 degrees per second sustained turn rate likely at sea level. Coupled with the ability for post stall maneuvering will prove very difficult to deal with. Yet alone the avionics.
So, thankfully, much like the Abrams, they’ll probably be begging for buffs the entire time with negative K/Ds
Though I still dont expect the stealth to actually be that strong, otherwise the gameplay at top tier will just be gen 5s stumbling around aimlessly looking for each other
Thanks to name tag and them randomly showing at any range, that won’t be the case. Also game would just turn in WVR and no BVR if it would just be stealth vs stealth
I still hope they fix that at some point and does still leave ASB.
and to me, that is just dull gameplay to return to guns and maybe IR missiles in jets meant for BVR. If the F-22 is truly as invisible as the US mains think it will. They might as well just delete aircraft like the Typhoon because Iw ont be playing it anymore. I dont see the point of just playing top tier with no radar or missiles
Maybe the aerial warfare they said about in Q and A would fix some of the problems and only limit few 5th gen per game and make their repair cost very expensive ( something like thirty thousand sliver lions).
Maybe, but I still think the best way to achieve balance is just to make the stealth an advantage sure, but not an overwhelming advantage, So if AESAs could detect it at like 60km, it would be fine
Ehh, let stealth be realistic and let the cards fall where they are. Unrealistically nerfed stealth takes away the sensor fusion advantage of late 4th gens.
The issue with the current ARB is that all the benefits such as stealth wont matter all that much, as missiles launched beyond like 5-10 km are fairly easy to defeat, and at that range stealth is likely not to work anymore. Additionally, Aim120’s are likely to stay inferior to MICA or R77 in HOB scenarios, leveling the playing field a bit. In my opinion, although they will be formidable in bvr, the limited missile count will somewhat mitigate that advantage, and in WVR, there is no major advantage in flight performance compared to other 4.5th or 5th gen planes. So far from invincible, but still strong.
Which isnt modeled.
So they already artificially nerf 4th Gen sensor fusion
They already artificially nerf BOL
They already artificially nerf missiles
IR signatures are a total mess
Im not sure why stealth should be treated differently. Especially given RCS signatures aren’t modeled on most things currently anyway
AMRAAM being a blind fish lol
Stealth won’t be treated differently. It would still be messed up.
F22 can Carry either 74 large caliber or 144 normal caliber countermeasures, coupling with stealth and reduced ir signature F-22 can easily vulture around Typhoon.
The most I’ve ever heard about was 60 not sure if standard or large. Do you have sources for that CM count on the F-22?
IR Signatures are not modeled. I dont know why there is expectation that it will be correct on the F-22. F-117 has IR reduction code and is still hotter than an Afterburning F-5
Yes, it might gain an advantage in defeating things with reduced RCS, but so should everything else though, the Typhoon has 10x the RCS signature it should have.
And again, if the F-22 is so completely able to dominate the competition, why is there an expectation it will be at teh same BR and not a full BR or more higher and completely out of sight of the Typhoons?
60 actually

That source literally says 40 flares and 20 chaff
Mistype lol
(Counting it gives 36 but idk if it’s doubled on the other side or not so I’ll say 60)
Oh yeah it can carry smaller flares as well as seen by this image, basically doubling the cm count but smaller cms

48 each side so I would say 96 cms small or normal calibre
