Do you have any sources that states its 150km only in rear aspect? Flame’s report indicates 65km front aspect in very poor conditions. I dont think 100+km under optimal conditions would be that unreasonable
and the average max range for most fights in War thunder is less than that though and again… its a big assumption that that will actually be modeled in war thunder given that there is no IR signature modeling at this time. Otherwise the Harrier would be able to defeat a rear-aspect missile just by VIFFing and wouldnt be hotter than the surface of the sun. Likewise an afterburning F-5 wouldnt be colder than an F-117
Yeah I wasn’t sure, but that doesn’t sound so attractive if it wouldn’t have AIM-174B in a potential meta where others are carrying Meteor, R-37M, and etc
Ah right, thank you, yes Britecloud are gunna be awesome, especially if the RAF goes through with the plans to upgrade/replace the FGR4’s current internal dispensers with a new blister containing lot more dispensers, 300 standard CMs or 150 large. Thats a lot of potential Briteclouds
There are virtually no significant uses for it. At this time is also doing some very heavy lifting. It will be almost needed to be added before IIR functionality in missiles are added, which we can assume will be very soon.
From what all i know is that J-16D is a direct competitor to the growler. So it could be stronger, equal to it or weaker than it. Cannot comment about it now
The system’s range is between 50 and 80 kilometers, but could potentially reach up to 150 kilometers. Target identification is possible from distances exceeding 40 kilometers. However, weather conditions significantly impact the performance of infrared-based target search and tracking.
Where does it state that 150km is rear-aspect only?
