What are you guys buying from the sales?

I was tempted to get Le Orla or HMS Whitby but gunna leave getting one of those in the 50% sale later in the year.

How would you comment on the Frank Knox + Moffett? Moffett is in the wb shop, so Does Frank Knox worth it?

They are reasonably good destroyers I believe but…

Moffets were spammed to death by the Botters last year to the point where I started calling them Boffets.

as a result I learnt exactly where to aim and how much to lead to land a first hit 1 shot about 80% of the time. I would guess I would not be alone. So I would air on the side of caution when buying those destroyers because they go up like a powder keg if hit just below the aft guns and if anyone knows where to aim, you dont last long.

Granted no ship is totally safe from that though, Belfast my main premium ship, is just as vulnerable.

Just TT stuff for SL

Just got my Chinese leftmost tree purchased. got me Mirage and Menglong (plane that actually matters).

I think for US you can go crazy with 4.7 destroyer lineup. Wilkinson and Frank Knox, with TT Mitscher as backup really does wonder because how fast these ships in terms of firerate and sheer speed anyways.

i’m broke GE-wise lmfao

because of that i’m getting the kirov and r2y2 v2

Buying the SL stuff

I spent 6 million SL on a bunch of TT planes and modifications, and I plan on buying the Wyvern if/when it goes on sale next.

I’m waiting for the ‘rare’ vehicles sales that might happen next week.

If I don’t get anything in interest I’ll just wait summer sales.

Was originally planning on putting a Tali on 2A7HU, but I think I’m too burned out with top tier to finish it’s research in time lol.

Will probably just pick up some more premium account instead.

I bought the Moffett because I heard that it was good, realised that (like Morvran_ said) everyone knew where to hit their ammo. I don’t even think I have gotten a kill in it. My buddy loves the Frank Knox though!

Bought the Turm III and bought mods (I hate heat). And this pfp.

I bought Tada’s Ki-61-I Hei.

Reason: I wanted an axis/redfor premium propeller plane for ASB.

Decision making process:

  1. I didn’t want captured vehicles that cause IFF issues (no P47, No P51). This also made French yak-3 highly problematic.
  2. I wanted to spend at most 12 euros.
  3. I wanted to avoid planes I found people describe as “Overpowered.” While the pyörrömerski appeals to me as a domestic design, feeling guilty for flying it without manually uptiering it sounded troublesome.
  4. Originally, I almost settled on soviet P63A5 with the restriction that I’ll only fly it when USSR is on side of US or when there was no US to begin with (Eastern Front MM vs germany/italy). The Ki-100-II was also tempting, but the soviet P63A5 paid more SL/min.
  5. I did a quick scan of prices when the sale did come to pass and…
Ki-61-I Hei was only 2000 some GE? Same price as my initial premium, the Mustang Ia?
  6. Temptation filled me to go and buy the hungarian Bf109G2 since it was “just another 6 euros”, but then I converted euros back to forints and decided nope, too expensive!
  7. Went and bought the Ki-61-I Tada after confirming that it’s the same as its tech-tree variant, ergo - no more or less “OP” and detested than any other japanese plane. Plus, I did like flying Ki-61s - felt more like a Bf109 or Mustang that was a little slow than a zero.

Thus,
I bought the Ki-61-I Tada.
After my decision making process, I have come to the conclusion that it is the ideal premium plane - beating out even my beloved Mustang MKIa:

  • Not stronger than TT vehicles - no guilt over wallet warrioring
  • Domestic vehicle without any risk of IFF (Mustang fails in this regard by being British and potentially causing confusion against US aircraft. Presently a non-issue as UK/US are always on the same side, and I guess the mediterrean/desert camoflague does make its britishness obvious beyond any doubt.)
  • Good SL/min in sim.
  • Historically interesting (it’s an ace’s plane! If only we also had had Pappy’s Corsair as its american counterpart…)

I had 17 naval vessels researched and I really don’t see any point in sinking any more SL into naval considering the abysmal state of naval arcade. I decided to hold back and look again Nov 1st to see if they bothered to fix what they messed up.

I bought a similar number of air and armor. I’ll just concentrate on them thru summer and into fall.
