Volumetric at its finest
So no…with the current state of the game i doubt even APFSDS would be able to deal with a T58
Yeah, it was volumetric BS.
But that doesn’t happen all the time.
Most APFSDS can deal with T58 no problem, and have better angle pen than all APHE shells.
The problem is that the T58 has 40 degrees of turret rotation with great HESH and 2.6s reload, so it may not always be possible to engage it, and the armour (especially at the chin / frontal plates) are still quite good against APFSDS to be fair.
Just that you must aim for the left turret cheek (where the commander and gunner sit) or the ammo carousel.
Not all the time?It took me 5 hours to do 35k points yesterday simply cause every shot didnt pen or didnt do damage
Heres another from the same day, even my friend in discord which barely play WarThunder knows how bad volumetric is
You dont usually have that enough time to aim at weakspots when hes already looking at you, considering he can overpressure you even by not even shooting at you
(Last thing its a joke kinda, dont take it seriously)
That video didn’t show anything.
Just that you missed your first shot, and the fuel tank unfortunately ate your second shot.
I mean you do as long as he isn’t aware of you, and / or busy engaging someone else.
The first shot on the T55 was a non pen a direct side
The second shot its way more weird since he should have imploded by somehow the fuel tank ate that like a champ (Which btw on russian MBTs happens way too often)
Tho we do agree on volumetric being bad so…
No, you shot too low, and one of the petals hit him.

It happens to all vehicles with fuel tanks, just that Russian tanks usually have more fuel tanks in the front and sides of their tanks. The T-55s are great example.
French tanks and Chinese tanks also love absorbing shots via fuel tanks because of their abundance of fuel tanks. Just look at the Leclerc, ZTZ59D1, or the AMX-30 Super, for example.

Yes, just that it isn’t as common as you think.
Though it is common enough to be frustrating.
On that clip, the ammo “penned” without even damaging anything inside, barely even dented the tracks
Yeah that one was just Volumetric BS. I don’t think the fuel tanks had anything to do with that shot.
How come that never happens to me when playing france then?
/S
Grass is always greener on the other side… 😅
I’ve been taken out plenty of times by heat, apfds, spaa and auto loaders
@FunEqual0330 Gaijin don’t care. they’ve been running the game into the ground for several years now, squeezing as much money out of it as they can by selling p2w premiums like the T58 and Turm III.
The mods are going apeshit at the moment, censoring everything that is even obliquely critical of gaijin. where do they find such massive scumbags, former reddit mods?
Its all random at this point playing this game
Every single shot its like opening a CSGO case where you gotta see if it pens or not
Gambling but for pen and post pen damage
you can even this bs in content creators videos and its pretty common to see them too…
Because we the common folk, don’t have YouTuber bias
So here we are 3 months after the T58 release. The tank came out and everyone called it OP. The tank performed well but as the months have gone on it has been steadily getting better and better stats. Statshark has it at 2.3kdr and almost 60% wr. Thats the 2nd highest KDR AND WR of any non-event vehicle, with only the BMP-T being better. But the BMP-T got an upteir in days with its stats still correcting from that. At this point, one BR jump may not even be enough considering how well it perforrms in 9.x gameplay. Any TT vehicle would have been upteired by now.
Maybe they nerf it in year after people stop buying it.
As long as it isn’t a ru vehicle then most people are ok with it bro
Or better yet - make all HESH perform as well as that on the T58 overpressure-wise. Test-driving the T58 (as I don’t own it) and purposely aiming at the target IT-1 where overpressure can’t happen shows the actual HESH effect is just as weak and inconsistent as any other HESH round.
90mm HESH would still be mostly unable to overpressure a lot of things, given we don’t see the likes of 122mm HE doing such outside the lowest tiers with the SU-122 meme assault gun. 100mm HESH from the Lancia 3Ro 100/17 would become even funnier. 120mm HESH would finally become devastating and give the poor Conqueror breathing room to function with an actually functional shell. And of course the likes of the AVRE, CEV, and Barn would become near-guaranteed “instakill if it hits anywhere” (which frankly those things should be).
90mm hesh should be performing slighly better than 90mm HE. The internal spalling should be adding fragmentation effects in addition to overpressure. However, its still 90mm HE at the end of the day.
That being said, 120mm hesh should be viable, but isn’t. 6.5kg explosive should be able to both overpressure and/or spall most T55/62/72 tanks rather easily. Instead, it acts like a 4kg HE charge. Inconsisent, often no effect, rare overpressure, and no spalling.
its the only tank where HESH is viable, and its not even with the country known for squashhead shells.
(btw that shell is likely still underperforming lol)
