Welcome to the suggestion draft for the West Slav Ground Tech tree, I’m posting this so that people can get a preview of the tech tree while it is worked on.
Please do remember, the tech tree will likely not stay like this, vehicles may get shuffled around and in some cases removed, BR’s are approximations as well.
- Yes
- Unsure
- No
- I just don’t want it
- There is too much “copy and paste”
- I want these nations as seperate tech tree’s
- I want these nations as sub-tree’s

What are Western Slavs?
Details
West Slavic nations are the Slavic peoples of Central Europe, primarily Poland, Czechia and Slovakia. They are distinguished from the East and South Slavic peoples mainly through their languages, historical development and cultural influences. Polish, Czech and Slovak developed from the West Slavic branch and share many linguistic features with one another that are not found to the same extent in Russian, Ukrainian, Serbian or Bulgarian.
Historically, West Slavic peoples developed within Central Europe , with Poland and the Czech and Slovak lands having strong connections to Central European states and institutions. Their history was also heavily influenced by the Latin Christian and Western European spheres , unlike the predominantly Byzantine-influenced traditions of many South and East Slavic peoples. Despite these differences, Poland, Czechia and Slovakia remain distinct nations with their own histories and identities, united primarily by their shared West Slavic heritage.
Why a West Slav tech tree?
Details
The West Slavic Tech Tree is a new idea on how to implement Poland and Czechoslovakia into the game. But its roots can be traced back to the concept was known as the Visegrád Group Tech Tree (RIP), which proposed combining Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Slovakia into a single tree. The concept largely died out following the addition of Hungary as a subtree of Italy, leaving the idea of a Polish-Czechoslovak tech tree in the dark as there wasn’t a alliance that could bring these two togather.
So we decided to give a “West Slav” tech tree a try, the “West Slav” idea is based on the shared military heritage of Poland and Czechoslovakia, two of the main West Slavic nations. Although they developed their armed forces independently, both established strong domestic arms industries and produced a wide range of indigenous tanks, armoured vehicles, artillery and support vehicles, even co-operating on developing vehicles.
After the Second World War, both countries became part of the Warsaw Pact and adopted many common Soviet standards, while continuing to develop their own vehicles and technologies. This resulted in a unique mixture of indigenous designs, locally modified Soviet vehicles and increasingly independent developments.
A West Slavic tree can represent these closely connected nations while still allowing Polish, Czech and Slovak vehicles to retain their own identities, rather than simply treating them as extensions of another nation’s technology tree (it’s a waste to use these nations as sub-tree’s).
