We need to understand the difference between CAS and Air camping

Close Air Support (CAS) means something like sending a Su-34 multiple times for attack passes, delivering missiles, rockets, and bombs. That’s real CAS.

CAS is not sitting high up in the mountains, watching your team lose from a helicopter, spamming missiles, and getting a free “get out of jail” card just for killing a single tank—only to be rewarded with four more missiles=kills. The tankers on the ground have no way to defend themselves.

I don’t know why Gaijin added helicopters like this. I don’t understand what’s going on in the snail’s brain, but I do know it’s unfair. The Su-34 has to risk its life, only for some helicopter hiding in the mountains to snipe it. Helicopters don’t do recon, they don’t disable enemy forces, they don’t clear objectives—they just randomly kill people. And honestly, I’m pretty sure it’s even more annoying to deal with than planes.

At least with planes, you can defend yourself, reduce your chances of being hit, and it actually adds to the immersion. CAS isn’t the problem—LAS(Long-Range Air Support) is.

So…are you going to tell us about air camping?

Tanks at top tier = target practice for CAS

As soon as someone earns 1000 sp then he can jump into that bullshit and nuke 4-6 tanks in a single pass

Depend on map i just load multi purpose shell, find the helis(if too far i go behind cover and ignore-spam location for cas to shoot)

Ah yes, yet another set of player expectations dashed against the indifferent cliffs of the game client.

Well I guess it really depends on the map, you can hide pretty easily from helicopters in town maps and SPAA’s can easily deal with them. If anything the only helicopters I’ve had problems killing at times are the ones that somehow prevent me from locking a missile towards them and I die in the process of trying to do so.

Also your argument on the SU-34 isn’t totally valid in my experience, the SU-34 is an insane CAS, so is the F-15E, the Eurofighter, the Rafale, the Gripens, the Mirages… I mean most of these top tier jets are really good if you know what you’re doing and at times there’s nothing your SPAA can do to counter them and the only option is to get on a plane yourself and fight them air to air.

But then again, it really comes to whoever has the best team. Top tier is filled with one death leavers and premium gamers, losing half your team under 3 minutes gameplay is only going to further allow the enemies to spawn CAS, doesn’t matter if helis or planes and they will just obliterate whoever is left on your side.

Looks like someone’s mad at dying to a helicopter…

I don’t know, guys, I have a feeling this guy possibly might not like helicopters…

C’mon we all hate Helos.

So the useless helicopter that dies to an ADATS is somehow OP but the Su-34/F-16C/etc that get to be immune to SPAA are somehow "real CAS’…
Su-34/F-16C/etc risk nothing, and helicopters risk everything.

The Su-34 risks nothing when doing CAS, NOTHING on the ground can contest it, including Helos. The only thing that threatens an Su-34 is another plane.

Anything about the Air Camping?

Meanwhile Im still waiting for some decent top tier helis to be added. Most dont stand a chance. Give me my Wildcat with 20 Martlets or AH-64E with Brimstones

The planes risk stepping into Anti-air range while the Helicopter sits there spamming missiles and it’s allot easier to find that plane then that Helictopter to kill it with your plane

The planes never enter anti-air range and helicopters are ALWAYS in anti-air range cause the maximum helicopter AGM range is the MINIMUM SPAA missile range.

You litterly spawn in SPAA range in some maps

This is exactly what helicopters are, though. It was always gonna be a terrible idea to add them.
