Yeah, that would be nice, though frankly both could get APDS and the M42 specifically could get proxy if we wanted to be really technical.
Fair enough, but its a matter of principle here - IFVs get to run around with limitless AP(FS)DS stocks but bigger, fatter, taller SPAAGs which lack the optional ATGMs for hard targets outside the ADATS don’t? It just doesn’t make any sense other than being a targeted whine-nerf toward SPAAG, and therefore the people doing the whining should be told “we will start lowering their BRs and do so more the more you scream they’re overpowered, until you cry yourselves to sleep, grow a set, and just shoot it. Enough.”
Supposedly it is missing APIC-T rounds which are weird full-caliber AP with tungsten cores inside (so some kind of AP-APCR hybrid with incendiary filling) that penetrated basically the same as the old APDS, but were actually used on the gun. However, if snail coded them as APCR the moment they saw “tungsten core,” then adding such rounds would be functionally pointless.
