With the addition of new SPAA and the current High-Tier MBT BR crunch, it’s time to introduce another maximum BR and make way for new MBT.
The first example of this situation can be found with the Leopard 2 series. All Leopard 2s past the 2A5 are identical in BR despite a large gap existing between the capabilities of the 2A5 and the 2A7V. Even the Leopard 2A6 is noticeably inferior to the 2A7V in combat due to the lack of additional armor plates, worse thermals, and lack of hull spall liners.
The second example is the new SPAA. While some are arguably too weak to even be at 12.0, such as the Chinese CS/SA5, the SPYDER (currently), and possibly the Elde, other SPAA, such as the SLAAMRAAM and IRIS-T SLM are eclipsing SPAA not too far from their BR.
I should emphasize that I am not looking to nerf the current SPAA, and in turn, with this proposed Ground BR change, top-tier CAS should also jump an entire BR higher. To specify what I mean, the Eurofighter Typhoon currently sits at 13.0 in Ground RB, and in my proposed BR jump, it would become BR 14.0 to keep the SPAA balance while also allowing CAS aircraft like the A-10C, which sits at the same ground BR as the F-15A and AV-8B Plus to breathe.
My third reason for wanting this BR increase is that it allows new additions to fit where they currently wouldn’t. As it stands, there isn’t a place that would fit the M1A2 SEP V3, Merkava Mk.4M Barak, T-14 Armata, STRV 123, later variants of the T-90M, and other such tanks that aren’t particularly far away from our current game state. Our current MBT set could finally receive historical buffs without breaking the game as well. There are countless bug reports about armor being lower in effectiveness than in reality, especially for Minor Nation MBTs, which struggle to withstand hits at all.
TLDR: Raising the BR cap fixes MBT having identical BRs despite large differences in capabilities, opens the way for new MBT, Light Tanks, and Tank destroyers to fill, fixes SPAA compression, and allows for current MBT to be historically buffed.
