True, well my perception of fun in this game is having fights where I don’t win too easily but actually have a chance without the enemy having a massive skill issue. And guess what? When facing american jets with my warbird I can neither fight, nor run away which is completely unfair. Maybe you find it fun to be a helpless prey and die in loop though
Or, you can explain me what you’d do in this situation so I can do something else than dying in loop
Please dont add more perma up/down tiers.
This would mean that every 8.7 vehicle would never see an uptier, making it an exceptionally popular BR bracket. This means that it’ll become a black hole, sucking up all 7.7-8.3s into permanent uptiers.
You can see a similar version of this happening in Air RB, where 10.3/10.7 is a very popular BR for premium jets, thus 9.3-10.0s see constant uptiers into that bracket, while 9.0s generally get very favorable matchmaking. Now picture that, but 10.3 cannot possibly be uptiered.
This effectively makes all 7.7s completely unplayable, especially any that rely on armor and/or have mediocre guns.
It also means that 9.0 will become completely unplayable as well, because that can only see uptiers. Unless there’s a critical mass of players playing 9.0. Which there won’t be, because it can only see uptiers.
In this one move, you’ve rendered two BRs completely unplayable, whilst also creating a perfect balancing nightmare for any heavies at 8.7 who suddenly no longer have to worry about their armor becoming less effective in uptiers. You say yourself, the Maus will never see an uptier, and you apparently see no issues with this?
This is drifting more OT, as the discussion was limited by the OP to realistic ground. Which is a problem in itself, as there are other modes too, which have to be considered.
I don’t know which “warbird” you are talking about, I don’t know what mode you talk about. But as a general rule: as bottom tier, avoid the competent top tiers. But this will have crossed your mind too.
I was mostly referring to 5.x and 6.x prop planes of France (the Seafire, the AD-4 and the Sea Fury mainly) in air arcade and air realistic. And I do try to avoid planes that will beat the hell out of me, but when their playstyle is hit-and-run above the spawn it’s not always possible
I started to see jets as soon as I reached 5.0, and they got more and more frequent as I was climbing. They’re still a minority but there’s frequently an F-89 camping the spawn which isn’t exactly fun
OK, I just looked up various things. Let me see where to start.
Unless you are a returning customer, you have a very limited experience of the game yet. When I had 700 missions, everything else seemed more powerful and threatening than what I had. Meanwhile, I take props at 3.0 to hunt jets in air arcade, because it pays very well and is not difficult. So perhaps, the problem you perceive is going to vanish with time. To help that, I would advise you NOT to rush down the tree. Because that leads to a perspective that you seem to have. However, it might also be very instructional to actually play a jet and find out how it is in someone elses shoes.
The new Sea Fury I haven’t yet purchased. But the Seafire should hardly see jets, and the AD-4 should work well in arcade. It is an attacker, and arcade is the best mode for it. (Or CAS in ground I suppose)
When Mustangs run into Mig-15s, air superiority isn’t their job. They are meant to do ground support then. The game provides that option too. It is left to the player to decide if they use it.
8.7s would likely end up facing so many HEATFS (e.g M56) in down tiers as pushback until 8.7 heavy tanks get overwhelmed with HEATFS light tanks to the point that it’s unfun to play, and then less people will play 8.7, and in turn there will be less HEATFS light tank players until the system reaches an equilibrium.
Well I actually am terrible at the game, but when dying to others planes of the same BR I usually see what I should’ve done to not die and realize it’s just a skill issue on my end, while when facing jets I simply have no idea what to do… I’m curious to see what your strategies are when facing jets with rank 3 planes
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think a few prop to jet battles happened in the Korean War. The thing is is that there will always be old tech in a military- they aren’t going to retire the older tech right away just because they could make better ones. People were flying f86s in the US while others were flying F15s.
I am not denying that, I’m saying the game balance shouldn’t be based on that. I don’t think a F-4 main would like to be uptiered so high they face F-22s, even though F-22s have faced F-4s irl
Faced is strong word for what occured there lmao
True lol but you get me, if the F-4s had destroyed the drone the F-22s would’ve turned them into ash
