Warning system before teamkill BAN

If you’ve ever been hit with a sudden ban after a few accidental teamkills, you know how frustrating it can be. One moment you’re playing the game, and the next you’re booted for something you didn’t mean to do. It’s especially annoying when those teamkills weren’t intentional—just the result of bad timing, misfires, or chaotic combat situations.

That’s why I think instead of going straight to a ban, why not introduce a warning message when a player is getting close to the limit? For example, if you’re just two or three teamkills away from an automatic ban, the game could send you a clear notification. Something like, “Caution: You are nearing the teamkill threshold. Please be more careful.”

This simple heads-up would go a long way. It gives players a chance to adjust their behavior and avoid penalties, especially in matches where accidents are more likely. Not only would it make the experience less punishing, but it also encourages accountability and more thoughtful gameplay.

Accidents happen and I know some players do teamkill deliberately but getting banned without warning isn’t very fun…

Thanks for reading :)

Almost all “accidental” teamkills are due to negligence and not being careful enough and can thus be entirely avoided (This means they are still your fault in the end because you didn’t take precautions to avoid teamkilling). If the automated system kicks in because of" accidental" teamkills then i wonder how “accidental” they actually were to begin with. Sure, actual accidents do happen, but not to the extent that you get a punishment for it.

Because that would give actively malicious players a “free pass” to teamkill as they want until they see that message and then stop. In the same way it would give otherwise fair players a “free pass” to teamkill when they are angry because they know they wont get punished for it until the warning shows up.
Introducing such a warning would give all players a way to figure out how the system works and be able to work around it completely without ever getting a punishment.

In the long run this would harm the game quite a lot and so many more players would start teamkilling freely until they got the warning. Teamkilling would turn out ten times worse.

Only thing I’d agree needs fixing is teamkill penalties against A.I vehicles.

In SB, far too often are the wrong model/nationality vehicles used for ground battles and a.i bombers/attackers/survey planes.

Far too often you’re fighting USSR as US/GB and you see a stray IL-x or Yer-2, dive and fire a burst and get told it’s a friendly.

Even if you do stop firing and go about your merry way, because you dealt damage 15 minutes ago and the A.I crashes for some reason… boom, teamkill.

For shooting an plane with a lethal tail-gunner using a safe approach and long-distance gunnery that wasn’t responding to any pings and calls for IFF and is not even supposed to be on your team.

Because of this, I do feel penalties involving A.I aircraft should not involve kicking from the match or account for long-term consequences.

Wow. Holy wow. You have to kill multiple team mates for that to happen. You are publicly admitting to being worse than a bot in lobbies you get put in.
