In my case, the lower part under the gun was hidden by the terrain, and firing a HEAT round into the barrel was a gamble. I decided to fire a HEAT round directly above the gun, at a minimum, to break the elevation mechanism and at most, the breech. It doesn’t work that way.

YEah with M348 HEAT at that BR you can exactly pen that KV-2 cheek. No need to disable his gun, by shooting his gunner already disable this tank since he need 30s to reload and need time to change gunner.

That would make sense, could folder the F3D-1 on the F2H-2. Though how would you fill the gap left by the thunderjets in second line? I’d say F-89C would be cool.
Though I think the F3D can keep its attacker role since afaik it has pretty poor flight performance and it probably benefits from that role
