What??? A stupid comparison: the MiG is faster, the MiG has a higher thrust-to-weight ratio, the MiG has missiles with both PARL and an IR seeker, the MiG will always force a fight against you, and you’ll always be playing defense. You’d have to be stupid to not understand such an obvious point and cite the presence of better missiles as an incontrovertible argument.

To launch either the R-3S or the 9J, you need to enter the rear hemisphere. Will the MIG let the Hunter do that? Missiles are absolutely useless here; it’s like the A-10S—you have four 9M missiles, but you’re always the bait because you’re slower and less dynamic.
Aviation and the sea aren’t tanks. There’s nowhere to hide in the air or at sea—speed, detection range, and firepower matter. The MIG is head and shoulders above the Hunter in every metric except the latest. And the early missiles are still a gamble.

And yes, why did the Mirage, which the Germans used, get inferior missiles, even though it’s a more modern aircraft? It’s impossible to understand the Gaijin’s logic—it simply doesn’t exist. Battle ratings are given out for no reason. And they’re adjusted years later, when the vehicles are no longer relevant. It’s like filling the research tree with unnecessary junk to increase the time it takes to level up to the top-tier vehicles, to incentivize buying the $80 pack. And then at the top ranks there are battles - 16 premiums against 16 premiums and a team that just flies somewhere and loses in 5 minutes.

that specific modification of the mirage 3 never used the Aim-9E, as it wasnt in service anymore when the upgrade happened, it used the Aim-9P

I think the issue is that most people, on any forum, have an expert authority complex and are only interested in whatever their pet preference is. Folks are arrogant, foolish, self exalty, blah blah blah.
Its just obnoxious watching 99% percent of folks on both sides of an argument flaunt their intellect while completely blind to the fact that they’re no smarter than the next guy and they’re getting emotional attached to being right in a public space where 50% or more of people are going to disagree with them for just breathing.
Point is, dont argue if you’re gonna get emotional about someone disagreeing with you (not you specifically, general statement).
