We need a World War/Conquest update, where all the vehicles in the game can have their own place on big maps that can accomodate modern jets and anti air. SPGs that can be used for what they were intended instead of just being glass cannons, with a new artillery mechanic for proper targeting at long ranges. Tanks would be used as spearheads, IFVs could be used to transport NPC infantry from point to point while also searching and finding targets with their drones.
This could be a seasonal type of gameplay, starting with WW2, Cold War and Modern Warfare (WW3), with vehicles from the relevant era. A Tiger 2 should not fight a T-54. Since the gameplay focuses on their strengths, vehicles wouldn’t need battle ratings to fight each other, they’re no longer bound to a small map and having to cap a point, they would have their own missions to fulfill, with proper research points and SL given for actions their vehicle has to perform. Example: Spotting an enemy that gets destroyed thanks to the spotting should give almost the same RP & SL as the one that got the kill. Some sort of Commander role for the entire team could also be implemented, with the entire team voting for the commanders that candidate, let’s say, a copy of the Squad gameplay.
Once a map gets completely dominated by one team or the tickets get depleted (attrition war), the map should change and a new match begins.
I think gameplay like this could give each player a way to enjoy the vehicles they like, instead of being forced to play on a small map where they can’t hide (see modern anti air).
Bigger maps, with an artillery spawn point, akin to the original AI artillery that was on the ground forces map would be awesome.
But also with that AI artillery to do what the old artillery did that a call for artillery was dependant on them still being alive to artillery.
We do need map work to be done, of which I actually even mentioned and offered my want and urge to do something about maps so many years back.
We almost need to revitalize the WTPC, which was just a popularity contest when it was brought out, and it was just used as an avenue to make issues for the game and company at the whim of the few that it consisted of.
I love your Idea. I fully undersatnd what you ment even tho im still lev 84, and this game mode would change warthunder in evrey BR, but didnt they say WW mode is coming around 2025? And waht happend to the Infantry mode? was this Fr a April joke?
They would still need BRs, or at least you shouldn’t be able to spawn the late war tanks without getting like at least 1000SP with early war ones. Otherwise no one would be able to play lower BR vehicles anyway as regardless of the map you come up with, a T-34-76 won’t be a fair matchup to a Jagdtiger. And then again, an M2A4 won’t be an equal matchup to the T-34-76 regardless of the map either.
For ground vehicles I think a respawn mechanic without SL, similar to Ground Sim battles where you have 3 respawns, would be better. For certain vehicles like Tiger 2 for example, you get 1 or 2 respawns, and normal tanks that were more common on the battlefield should get more respawns. T-34 and Panzer 4 were more common than Tiger 1, 2 and IS-2. But that can be experimented with.
As of M2A4, it shouldn’t even try to fight a T-34, instead focusing on spotting targets and shooting at NPC infantry, trying to flank and shoot at targets that it can kill. Friendly tanks should deal with other tanks, that’s their role in the team, especially in WW2. In later eras, IFVs can deal with tanks just fine if played properly.
Makes no sense. People would just spawn a Tiger 2 as many times as they can and then quit.
How do you mean this makes no sense, and how do you even mean they’d just spawn a tiger II as many times as they can, like they can’t already?
If all tanks could be spawned straight away, people would all just spawn the strongest ones, which would lead to lower tier ones being unplayable. And that would encourage basically leaving the match as soon as you exhaust your spawns in strongest vehicles since the further you go, the less of a fighting chance you get.
And in this simple amazing way out of the entire WW2 bracket that was suposed to be playable in the mode only top 2 BRs are even worth considering.
It’s either you start in weaker tanks that cost nothing to spawn and make your way up slowly by gaining SP or this mode will be just trash
They already have that already.
That’s where the ODLs in the current modes reside… Spawn their one, best tank, then leave.
I feel you’ve almost misread the suggestion in your want to make out it doesn’t make sense. Where did they actually say they’d be one, compared to era based episodical events?
I do that already… You spawn the lower SP vehicle because you’re going to double your SP need in the next spawn. I use SPAA to buffer my SP costs and to make the different classes cost how they do.
