Do we have one in game that your basing this off I checked and couldn’t find one genuinely intrigued.
If your talking about the visual model than that’s probably just do to lazy checking of the model used as reference, the AMRAAM had a similar thing on release where it was modeled after the B only getting its model updated right before we got the B in game as a different missile,( never understand why the didn’t just change the A’s name to the B as they are exact copies within the game.)
My guess is it will be similar to how they implemented the AIM-54A and improved its tracking capability for its upgrade into the AIM-54C, however because they haven’t buffed any seekers other than the MICA I suspect AESA ones will finally give missiles there specialised seeker or just a new general better seeker similar to the standard ARH seeker we have in game.
@Stona_WT Hi, sorry for ping, I have question regarding the Su-30MKK pack.
As far as I can tell there was no devblog for it before update release and i havent noticed option to preorder, so my question is whenever were pre-orders aviable and if not, will there be any sort of “pre-order” bonus aviable to it?
I love how the devs, instead of adding the actual YF-16 airframe that was inspected by the JASDF pilots and is in the brochure, went “ah yes, we THINK japan would have done this”
Rafale mains cannot seriously be complaining that they’ve only been dethroned after a year of total domination, what an unbearable part of the community
The brochure one was basically the YF-16 Sparrow tests adapted into the service Block 10 design, so airframe wise (aside from some finer details) it’s not wrong. The actual problems of it are somehow even more stupid.
The real proposal integrated the Sparrows to match the updated minimal requirements of the competition after the initial F-16J proposal without Sparrows was denied. Less than a 4 Sparrow loadout simply would not qualify, let alone compete with the F-14J and F-15J. Somehow Gaijin sees this and decides that if it won they would’ve removed half of the Sparrows for no other reason than comparing it to the F-16ADF which was a decade away from even existing and made to fill a completely different role.
The way it was meant to compete with the more dedicated air superiority planes was multirole utility, offering both TV guided missiles and bombs in the brochure. In game these are both on the US F-16A Block 10, but for some reason Gaijin decided to remove the GBU-8 from the AJ.
They gave it the F100-PW-220 engine, an engine that not only didn’t exist by the time it was proposed, but also didn’t exist by the time it would’ve entered service. Keep in mind the US F-16A Block 10 has the correct F100-PW-200 engine, so this was a conscious decision.
wonder if next patch we will see the addition of the PSO kit to the base Ajax would be nice to make it immune to pretty much all auto cannons but still a one shot by all cannon armed tanks
Armor is a balancing factor unfortunately the MK.IV for example uses made up armor for balance vs its STANAG level 6 armor, as its stated its immune irl to all 30mm APDS rounds from 500mm.
I doubt gaijin would add it to irl levels and not just gimp it like they do to most other NATO IFV’s
doesnt the MK.IV not also have Spikes? and I would be fine with it going to 10.7 if it made it more resistant to auto cannons since I see the Ajax as more of a tank meant for hunting other IFVs then tanks
