War Thunder "Line of Contact" - Changelog

right which is why my comment was asking for a “japanese” aircraft at 14.3 or 14.0. I’m not complaining japan doesn’t have a 14.3 aircraft

I mean i guess they might but after all the attention they just received id rather wait a bit. Wpuld be nice to get some focus on some ahem long overdue Japanese WW2 aircraft rather than focus on just top tier. Other nations should be the focus for toptier air for a while imo besides we haven’t seen a TT prop plane in a few years

oh thats a great point! I know japan will get proper japanese top tier later with the aam4b and upgrades of the f15. Now we play the waiting game again.

You should totally call Japanese MOD and tell him to put HMD on F-2A

bro i wish, for now TWS is my “hmd” to launch aam3 offbore

There are different ACM modes for you. One of them is narrow and tall which makes it perfect for dogfights and off-bore locking

wait dude I’ve been meaning to figure out how to change my acm mode, u know how?

Once you’re in ACM mode just use your regular radar fov/scan controls

oof my radar controls are so simplified I just have switch radar mode and lock. It works for me, I need to find where to put the rest of them in.

you can use new radar ui instead

true, I will mess around with it later.

Here Gripen E for example:

I just realised I have free will and can just not grind the F18E definitely has nothing to do with being tilted that 2 aim9m I fired last game got 1 flared in side aspect making me consider death.

Cant really be to angry bullying with 4 aim9M at 11.7 kinda earned me that karma

In other news hows everyone gamblin going

Issue is there’s really no Japanese aircraft that could do that.

  • New weapons for F-2 / F-15J(M), or separate copies (since we have the latest models) with those new weapons wouldn’t come without equivalent weapons for other nations, that essentially create the same gap we have now between these and Eurofighter / Rafale. Yes, AAM-5 would be a good missile, but when we get it others will get IRIS-T, AIM-9X etc.

  • There’s experimental upgrades, but those generally won’t make up for all their shortcomings compared to top tier, such as a more powerful radar mounted to an otherwise unmodified ADTW F-2A or nose IRST on an F-15J(M) (but without HMD). These would be interesting to see, but still not suddenly be a Rafale equivalent.

  • Then there is options that could compete with their direct equivalents, but would be too far in the future from now, namely the F-35A and F-35B (on par with other F-35s, maybe could get JNAAM).
→ 26DMU (5th gen F-X) could also be added as an equivalent to something like the F-22, but since it’s an unfinished prototype I wouldn’t be too surprised if they’d only add it by the time it’s no longer complete top tier. So at that point we could be way past even initial 5th gens

So for Japanese vehicles before F-35 we might see them add some off meta things they skipped before like the T-1s or even some WWII aircraft.

Good points I agree. I just hope when IRIST, METEOR, AIM 9x and other missles get added Japan gets their AAM4B and AAM5 at the same time.

I think if they’re really working on PL-15 they might already be planning AESA missile mechanics. Anything else shouldn’t be an issue since we already have the AAM-4B model anyways (used for the AAM-4).

what are AESA missile mechanics, how is it different from what we have right now?

My point is that if you’re gonna say “just multipath” then the gripen and eft could multipath up to the rafale until the merge.

Yeah this is just trying to write a narrative saying that the Su-30SM2 can’t get multiple kills with the R-77-1 against the average random lobby that don’t know how to notch and chaff. The Su-30SM2 is the vehicle of choice if you want to have a high KPS in air rb.

But at any rate, developers don’t want to do anything for the Rafale it seems so it is what it is. Air spawns should be removed in top tier air rb because it’s giving the Su-30SM2 an unjustified handicap.

I have no idea, currently AESA seekers on missiles are modelled the same way regular PD missile radars are, so we can really only know once (or if) they add it.
Here it’s mainly matters because the AESA seeker is the only physical change between AAM-4 and AAM-4B.
