$109 AUD for the new F-14D pack. Gaijin are charging more than brand new AAA games at this point, it is beyond ridiculous to think a single vehicle is worth that much.

I have been playing War Thunder for years now and clearly I love the game as I have over 1300 hours. I love the models and the vehicles and how many there are to have fun with. I’ve wanted to fly/drive these since I was a kid and I haven’t had another game that does it better than War Thunder. All that comes with a huge downside. A huge uptick in premiums, neglect for game modes and the player base, and a surge in low effort AI use and copy paste vehicles with a clear distinction for an “I don’t care give me your money” attitude. Its coming to a breaking point now and the whole community is fed up. I will no longer be buying anything, supporting the game, or playing as much as I normally do. I believe in this game, as it has so much potential. If they just listened to their player base they wouldn’t be in this mess and I wouldn’t post this review because I would be enjoying the game. But the biggest Youtubers said it best, this game has come down to a slop “treadmill” that has pushed its player base off the edge and we cant take it anymore.

I Agree in copy past and i don’t support AI use it’s really bad looking.
mr snail battlepass is copy past and many premiums copy past and mr snail keep adding more tec tree copy past !
i don’t understand why mr snail don’t add awesome tanks / planes / ships from the suggestion i saw so many cool vehicles !
each update always focused on modern vehicles and old vehicles don’t get model reworks / fix they take years and WWII is forgotten adding one or two vehicles is still not much in my opinion.
this is the worst year for mr snail so many copy past :/

6695 hour player here, I agree wholeheartedly, however as a console player who has noticed some….decisions(bug reports for example or sales) regarding console, I have lost all faith. However this year has been the worst I have seen so far from Gaijin. I will say nothing else as I have said all I need to(that and I don’t trust forum mods not to nuke me if I say any more).

Slowly its going down outside of the occasional peak for a event or update but other wise its overall going down.

Thats steam that doesnt take into account console or launcher from the website
It still represents a decent chunk of the player base and its not far fetched to say if steam is seeing a consistent overall drop in the player count then other platforms and launchers are as well.

I think if gaijin doesn’t come up with good and fun new gamemodes, especially for Air, the game will start to stagnate after 5th gen aircraft are added…
For air battles.
-The gameplay loop is very repetitive and shallow, after people lose the interest in grinding the next thing, many players, especially the veterans, will play less and less…
-Maybe nuclear thunder will make things better, but it isn’t looking promising to be honest.
-The top tier grind aspect is being mostly fueled till 5th gens are added.
For ground.
-it’s already ruined in my view, and it’s only getting worse with more CAS being added and a distinctive lack of balance between nations. The rewards are also incredibly poor.

The ideia of grinding top tier vehicles is what brings more revenue for gaijin, by selling premium time and premium vehicles. The end of the line for air is near, and for ground is essentially already here since newer MBTs won’t be much different, and the gameplay will be the same as the current ones.
Without the desire to pay to grind faster from the player base, the revenue will stagnate, and even if Gajin gives us better gamemodes, that alone won’t sell anything…
Gaijin knows this and is already making new projects that will likely take over most of their resources when revenue from WT stagnates. By then, we can expect less development and maintenance of WT till it “dies”.
Unless they fundamentally change how they monetize the game, but people will hate that.

I have no desire to play or spend anymore money on the game.
I’ve told my friends last year starting with the BMP-T/T72 that this year we’ll see Russia benefit the most with every update. It started with the SM-SV for whatever reason the Pantsir S1 and BUK systems weren’t enough. MITL KH38MTs are a thing, and same with multi point launching KH38MLs because mini cruise missiles are so fun to play against.
The BMPTs effectively still have killed the 10.3 bracket and any bracket it touches due to how overarmoured it is. Its much harder to kill a Terminator vs its chassis equivalent T72 and T90.
Russian ERA is getting a buff for some reason? Like make it make sense.
Its to the point where I started playing Russia just to avoid being on the receiving end CONSTANTLY. Even then I cant play RU with my friends because top tier is so far lost that majority of the players are playing RU to avoid the cancer that Gaijin added to the game.
Top tier is dead. You’re doomed if you play against Russia or you’re doomed if you play RU due to how bad queue times.
They don’t care about our feedback. They only care when it benefits them and they know the pressure is getting built up against them. Wheres our Abrams armour ‘feedback’ from the devs we’re supposed to get? Sounds mods still disabled. So many different issues. Anti cheat being god awful that people can blatantly cheat for months or even years reach top tier for multiple nations and still not get banned. The GAME MODERATORS can’t even talk to anyone from the anticheat department directly either.
I’m tired of it. This company has lost the passion while showing blatant bias constantly. The community is part of the problem as well, you’ll have the Russian mains talk about irrelevant BRs to the discussion to justify them having broken equipment for top tier. As long as that one certain developer who caused issues in the past remains with the company, I personally will not spend a single dollar of my own.

Content Creators can’t even talk to Gaijin directly. There’s always a middle man. There’s a middle man for literally everything they do so they can DENY any responsibility.
Oh we outsourced our anime tank skins to a third party and they used AI so we won’t be using them anymore. Like ANYTHING and EVERYTHING they do is done in a way so they can AVOID responsibility EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
