Where do I apply to get into the War Thunder 2 beta? With those changes, I’d even buy the pre-order.
You do get the irony on this phrase…?
Each player should play what he wants and has fun playing…i play arcade and i dont care if someone thinks i am “inferior” or something like it…
“Boring” is actually RB or Sim FOR ME…and i am fine with players that think and play differently…lucky for all, there are all types…so we can all find people to play with :)))))
I’d play sim more if it had a functioning economy, less bugs, and actual care put into it. It’s also a bit long, especially for props when compared to air RB.
No i don’t.
Sim is the only mode that is complex enough to have a skill barrier for entry. Air Sim needs some effort to get into AB and RB both don’t, they are very intuitive. That’s sort of their strentgh: Accessability.
So RB players looking down on AB players is silly, because the modes are almost identical in complexity. But still they do.
Sim players usually do not look down on AB/RB players, even though they at least have a good reason to look down on them. As their mode is quite a different beast to conquer. I kniw i am the exception as i do look down on RB players, but this is mostly because i am annoyed that they inject themselves into general AB and Sim discussions to solely talk about RB… And the looking down on AB is rather commonly known.
Sure the Economy is trash, no denying that.
That’s simply not true. Since you can join a running game you are unsure of the distance of your closest enemy, keeping you on your toes right from the beginning. Since in RB you know that your opponents start at the same time as you from almost the furthest away possible, the average time to combat is shorter in sim.
Since you don’t have to stay the entire three hours, you get more combat in the same time compared to RB.
If you are semi competent at spotting that is.
When I have to play for a minimum of 30 minutes to make the same rewards I would in RB, it is true.
You’re not wrong, but you aren’t right either. Sim is a longer gamemode if you don’t instantly spot people. It also takes a lot more effort, and you don’t have the ability to take a break unless you land.
I like sim, but there’s also a place for short matches with realistic flight models. I don’t enjoy arcade, and I want RB to fill the spot between AB and SB.
The problem with arcade right now is forcing all the maps to be extremely small. There’s no reason to show where enemy players are if they’re so close I can hear them behind a wall. Arcade should use the really massive maps and really give the feeling of a huge battle that most arcade players are wanting.
Sure, but that condition was not part of your initial post i responded to… So…
No idea what to tell you, changing your argument after the fact, is kind of a dick move.
Towards the point you actually made, my rebuttal still stands.
Which is why i said:
It’s almost like i took it into account…
Putting MightyBaozi’s corposhilling aside, the reason the game won’t die is because there simply isn’t any real competition for it. No other game out there not even Battlefield offers vehicular combat of this scale and detail. The exception is naval since World of Warships is superior to it in almost every way which is why almost every game has a much longer queue time compared to air and ground and is populated more and more by bots instead of real players. gaijin could monetize this game to the point of ridiculousness such as charging players for logging in, fuel consumption, aircrew who don’t bail out etc. and players will stay with it since there’s no alternative.
New players simply aren’t going to be aware of how much the game has gone downhill such as in optimization which has taken a nosedive since Storm Warning, the battle pass whose value has been cratering since season 7, the horrible compression in jets and naval, tying the warbond shop to the battle pass and the closing of avenues to earn GJN such as selling materials during the crafting events for F2P players. gaijin’s scumminess will be lost in all the flash and pizazz of their marketing.
@capnlunch
There are over 10 examples of direct competition, and over 100 examples of indirect competition in the gaming space itself.
Saying War Thunder “has no real competition” is incorrect, especially when War Thunder has overtly responded to changes made in its direct competitors’ games.
The battlepass rewards are currently over 2x the value of the GE spent on them.
This is a reminder that it does not matter if YOU think a game isn’t competition.
It only matters if the game developer treats competitors as competition.
Please list these examples of direct competition. World of Warplanes and Tanks don’t count since they don’t offer the same experience. World of Warships offers competition only for naval which never sees players on the same scale as air and ground anyway.
By that logic one can claim that Resident Evil 4 is a competitor to Gears of War and Spec Ops the Line because GoW and SOTL copied the over the shoulder aiming system. Which is obviously not true since RE4 is a completely different genre and franchise with its own player base. There may be some overlap in players but they’re certainly not competitors.
That stopped being true after season 6. Everything since then has been a steady lowering in value with the removal of the third and fourth premium vehicles and the increasing amount of copy paste garbage instead of unique but not op vehicles. Bear in mind that the warbond shop is also tied to the BP which means you need to spend a minimum of 2k GE to get three vehicles over three months. If you don’t pay you’re stuck with one since you have zero chance of getting enough warbonds for the other two. Prior to the battlepass you could get one vehicle per month from the shop simply by playing the game and doing special tasks. For 0 GE.
Not to mention that WOT and WOP are going through the same issues that WT is. It seems games like this are just prone to things going wrong.
hey its ok war thunder will never die due to gaijin allowing 100k false chinese bot account to constantly be in every lobby.
fr though at top tier every match your in there is a hacker on the enemy side and even on your side there are no legit players most of the teams are bot filled with premium tanks/planes
One of which was supposedly going to be a war thunder killer by those who called war thunders demise years back was Armored Warfare.
Now that was a funny time seeing all those people complaining and saying they were leaving, and now I bet you they’re all back here, still moaning and complaining.
You clearly didn’t read that post.
DCS, World of Tanks, Planes, and Ships, GHPC [despite it being the worst tank game you can buy], VTOL VR, IL2 series [which Gaijin made one of], Armored Warfare [for some reason it’s still alive, War Thunder destroyed it by competing against it], Wingman, Ace Combat… and that’s just a fraction of the stuff on Steam alone.`
None of that is my opinion, because as I said previously:
The ONLY thing that matters is if Gaijin treats them as competitors, which they do.
If the competition is inferior to War Thunder, then War Thunder is just better. Competition is still competition when it’s inferior.
“War Thunder’s competitors never see players.” Correct, because War Thunder is superior.
As for Battle Pass: 2,100,000 SL, which is equal to ~4500GE.
A rank 3 premium: ~1500GE.
A rank 4 premium: ~6000GE.
All for just playing the game and spending 2500GE.
That’s not even counting the boosters, cosmetics, etc.
absolutely cooked by forum moderator
Most of those games are COMPLETELY different to what WT offers. Unless you only play sim, sure maybe some of those games come slightly close but they’re either completely different games or just older versions of what WT would become.
Ace Combat alone is a singleplayer game based in a modern/near future setting with multiplayer as a side gamemode. Wingman is the annoying little brother of AC that thinks 2016 alt-right memes are still funny.
The whole point isn’t about reaching top tier–it’s about finding a rank that you like and are happy with. If you grind incessantly for a vehicle, and it immediately doesn’t meet your standards, you’re not going to be happy with it.
Shouldve just not replied man.
Nothing lasts forever - so what?
You made a meaningless reply to a post that is 8 months old… should have followed your own advice!!
