War Thunder has been my go-to game for five years, but I’m starting to lose interest. It’s not the economy or the cheaters, I just feel like I’ve done it all. With 5,000+ hours and nearly $2,000 sunk in, I’ve got pretty much every vehicle in the game. The latest updates have been pretty boring, no new toys to chase. I’m hoping Gaijin can throw me a curveball before the end of the year.

I feel you. I’m not near as close to 5k hours (1800) and I HOPE I’m not near $2k (i might LMFAO O: )
But I think in December, the Eurofighter MIGHT come, same with some other stuff.
That will at least get ME excited and will just casually play with no prem until that point.
in 2023, 99% of my TOTAL steam time was War Thunder LOL

What did you spend $2000 on?
I didn’t even spend that much on the PC I play with… if you count the entire time I’ve played I’ve spent maybe $2500 on PCs and premium but if really maybe $200 went to WT (and I think that’s more than I spent, probably more around $120).
That includes all of the other gear I have as well (though most of that I had before Gaijin was created).

Go into a CB (e.g the Aussiemantis one), take an AV-8C with 5 incendiaries, and use bomb series to drop all 5 at same time on a tank and watch it go flying.
Just don’t drop em on or near anything open-top (enclosed in glass either). Very funny to do.

I have the same thing, there are no new trees that will not copy paste like benelux or Hungary, I would like to see the countries from Europe merged into one tree

+5000 hours and ±2000EUR player here.
Do what I did, give yourself a challenge.
For example I spaded out every single plane in GER TT which lead me trough a nice path of aviation history. It´s crazy we went from 300kmh planes to 1000kmh capable in a span of just 10 years. You will discover some true hidden gems there (Bf 109E-4) and also some truly awful overtiered planes like the F-84F (ughhhh) and Do-217 (so overtiered).
After that is done, try a new mode. I started maining ASB. While trying to master this mode, it sparked a new interest in WT for me. Just buy a decent stick like something for 200 bucks and a 60FPS webcam for head tracking (or use VR if you have) and give it a go. I wish I started with ASB sooner, though we desperately need new maps like the Denmark (which is arguably the best EC map). Playing some planes like the P-51 D30 or Me 262 is just pure joy. I also really enjoy BVR in the F-15C. What a smooth plane to fly.
Edit: Nevermind, I see you played ASB for a decent amount of time already. Then I can´t help you, sorry. Just detox from WT and hope they give us a new mode to play in other than team deathmatch.
You can look up your purchase history on the market and in the marketplace. Though I don´t recommend it. When I calculated, out of curiosity, how much I spent, I wanted to punch myself in the nose. :)
Ahahaha, I always take a refuge on Aussiemantis server when I feel like I am done with WT. Such a nice server man. Maps with secrets are the best. Though I wish he would return North Port map. It´s where I learned how to dogfight. Some old guard aces taught me there and since you keep respawning instantly in the air, you can learn more in 2 hours than playing ARB for a year.

This is what I’m currently doing - working on wagers for now but once I have those cleared I’m sure I’ll come up with something fun to do. (Maybe wean myself off my XP-50 and become an expert at another aircraft).

Sounds like your just Burnt out rn. I have over 12k hours into this game and I took 2 year break from 2019 to 2021, around the end of 2021 i came back, and occasionally i take 1 month breaks or so since then.

You’re barely past halfway as far as vehicles go, you still have a LOT to get. I have been here 10+ years and have 1,951 vehicles and still a LOT left to get. I used to grind insanely and had it in my mind to be a “collector” and get every vehicle in the game. Which I did manage 5 or 6 times way back when it was 5 nations and just planes, but even once or twice after tanks came in, before all 5 nations had tanks, but still. Just 5 tiers, a lot less vehicles, but here’s the thing, it doesn’t matter because they just keep adding more. Now with 10 nations and besides planes and tanks, we have naval and a good many helis as well. While as things are now, I prolly wouldn’t recommend to new players to attempt to become a collector, just too much stuff really. I feel sorry for new guys, because the game is just overwhelming at this point. I stopped grinding specifically for vehicles 3 years or so back. When you get down to higher tier things being all you have left, the grind can be . . . oppressive, painful and just sucks the fun outta the whole thing. I feel like this is where the real “burn out” comes from. When I stopped grinding, I continued to find “task & reward” things to do and mainly just did the daily tasks to earn Warbonds and buy stuff outta that shop(I have almost 20 booshes from there, ALL for FREE, just from playing). Then the BP came along and now, that’s all I do . . BP Daily & Special tasks and the Challenges when I can. It works for me. The little “game within the game” part keeps me on an even keel. Not too hard, not too time consuming, so I feed the need and avoid the burnout that way. I have 60k games played, over 170k spawns in AB(I mainly fly AB Air as I have from the start, it’s what I enjoy) and I can still come in and play every day, accomplish some small things and I still gather in some vehicles doing that and the Squadron vehicles, as well as the event stuff. And I even manage to get a tech tree vehicle researched here & there. It goes slow researching top tier using 4.7 fighters, but I don’t really mind. (I have finished the RU air tree like 13 or 14 times . . again, they just add more . . lol). Taking a break is not a bad idea . . . keep your head on straight. Do whatever you can so that you do not lose the joy the has been given you in the past. Stay patient/calm and don’t sweat the small stuff(it’s ALL small stuff)
I hope you find your way, without losing WT . . but it will still be here for years to come I suspect . . door will be open

I just failed to shoot down a Nuke B-29. I could have stopped him! I hate the Do-335 and I have 0 clue why everyone loves this premium so much. It keeps letting me down always.

I play other game modes when I get burnt out of a game mode.
I change my tactics to play a game mode differently.

The game is Ghost shell city at the moment. The B2 Do was a great plane that could take damage now when it gets hit it just becomes an uncontrollable glider.
I guess Gaijin taking your money is a theme on this post.
Good reason not to bother with Premiums.You will get miss sold
