War Thunder default sounds

Just wondering how long do we have to endure the current games default sounds?

Are they working on whatever their issue is with sound mods?

I’ve never used a sound mod cause I have a general dislike for Hollywood sounds [bass heavy].
The default sounds I’ve always preferred because they’re more in-line with real sounds, though they did make them more bass heavy 3 years ago.

When Gaijin fixes whatever issue they found, they’ll re-activate sound mods for people that want them.

When the last major update introduced new audio options for headphones, I was happy because in GRB and ARB battles I could finally tell where things were (tanks, aircraft) by sound. However, I mainly play Air Sim, where this change has negatively affected gameplay. Now I simply can’t hear when someone flies past me. When I attack ground AI, I only hear their sound for a split second — as if the audio only appears within about 100 meters of the source and then disappears completely.

I had the same problem on Ground rb with new uptade.

Tanks wasn’t making any sound until they get in 100 meter range then i decided to remove sound mod codes on config and uptaded game.

So far it worked out and not having any problems.

The only soundmod i use, is one to replace the default karen voice for western planes with the original bitching betty.
I can’t stand it and had to disable it until it’s allowed to change again.

  • Sound Modifications have been temporarily disabled. We continue to actively develop the game’s audio, adding new features and improving sound quality. Due to these changes, some sound modifications have become incompatible with the current client version, leading to an increase in errors and crashes. To ensure a predictable and stable experience for all players, we’ve temporarily disabled support for sound modifications in War Thunder.
  • We value the community and mod authors and intend to maintain the ability to create and use sound modifications as an important part of the game. We have a publicly available official sound project for modding, and we are already working on:
    • A mechanism for evaluating the compatibility and functionality of sound modifications
    • A separate guide for creating sound modifications for the current version and structure of the FMOD audio project: bank sets, routing, parameters/events, etc. This guide will help you improve the compatibility of your modifications with the game, making them more stable and less likely to impact game performance.
  • As soon as these tools are ready, support for sound modifications will be re-enabled. Thank you for your understanding and support.
