Software like G-HUB allowed users to run custom code that could affect game input. Basically, being naughty with your mouse or keyboard. No, I am not talking about the standard macros.
Since then most software has either removed custom code capability or massively reduced it. Can not speak for all of them but I know on G-HUB the ability to run custom code on your mouse or keyboard has been removed.
Don’t EAC takes much more attention against function pointer hooks?
I have never developed or used cheats in the games except for using CE for debugging on my projects, but from the various discussions I have seen, I don’t think BE is more reliable than EAC.
I might repeat what others said here already
But it doesn’t sound too reassuring when community manager cannot answer
In their defense, its understandable but at same time they could ask developers for more answers regarding the matter.
I’m sure no one would want to risk losing their accounts due to anti-cheat software having problems with mouse and keyboard software like Logitech G Hub.
I also saw some say that BattlEye has an issue with high ping (it sees it as lag switching or something?). So, does that mean anyone with poorer internet connection (or majority of players from Australia and NZ) has risk of getting banned because anti-cheat might see high ping as malicious behavior?
I’m not against the anti-cheat, it’s just that these questions remain unanswered and I’m sure few others here would like to see some answers on the matters above.
Yes but - BE also has robust protection against function pointer hooks and code injections, but it typically focuses on a wider range of cheat types, including external cheats and game integrity checks. EAC focuses more on low-level injection that mostly involves memory manipulation.
Air RB Anti-Cheat is needed!
Everyone who says there are no cheaters in ARB, have no clue. Just look what u can actually buy on black markets… its disgusting.
There isn’t. The only ones I could assume are the Ping/PL spoofers. Aka proximity spoofing. Aka will purposely make you lack straight into the ground causing your so-called “Lagging”.
honestly I don’t see why there would be problems with G hub. the software is very well known and widespread, I have other games with Battleeye and ghub and no problems. We are no longer in 2010 where widespread third-party software banned players.
I have Ghub as well as MSI software for the voltage of my CG, I have never had any problems with more than 600 different games
Thanks for that answer. It is somewhat encouraging.
I am fully ignorant to AC software.
As such this thread has been scary for me.
The official voice of WT says they don’t know/wont tell us if G hub and other common software will get us a ban for cheating. Only to contact support after it happens.
But anyone who has ever contacted support knows they will simply say “You shouldn’t have had banned software on your computer” and close the ticket.
So it leaves players, like me, who don’t know how it all works in a very bad position.
Id never use cheats, but I don’t know for sure every piece of software on my computer is safe for BattlEye.
No problem then. I have lots of modded games on my PC (via the Steam workshop, or via Nexus for example) and I’ve never had any problems.
Cheat software is very specific and occurs in specific locations on your computer. No comparison with a ghub, Nvidia’s interface, discord or anything like that.
You will undoubtedly see people complaining about being banned without ever having cheated and then later we learn that there is a little software to cheat on another game on your PC etc etc
where have you even got this idea that ghub or other common software gets you banned? geforce experience doesnt, OBS doesnt, rivatuner statistics overlay doesnt. I can name multiple software that both have overlays and hook direclty into the API render pipeline to display such overlays and are fine.
Ghub will ONLY get you banned if the anticheat detects macro scripts, im not explaining what these are but all you have to know is, they are VERY common in rainbowsix siege (recoil macros) ghub on its own DOES NOT get you banned, what you choose to run INSIDE of ghub “can” potentially get you banned.
How do I know this? ive been using ghub for the last several years with my G502 X mouse and my recently retired G502 Hero mouse, I’ve been using geforce experience (or better yet shadowplay) to capture recordings (by which war thunder directly supports with nvidia highlights so no chance thats getting you banned)
I’ve also been using msi rivatuner overlay for literally 8+ years now, way back when I was on the OG R9 290X GPU from AMD (thats how far back im talking here)
The only software that I know of (or use to) get you banned by anticheat was Gigabyte RGB Fusion because for some reason it had a habit of injecting .DLLs into system files when it shouldnt have and some anticheat saw this, this was later resolved by gigabyte but also BE and EAC by adding it as a “Known” file type (assuming its not modified)
Its ironic every one is complaining about false bans with BE but ignore the fact we have “so called false ban claims already with EAC” if you aint a 5 year old installing every program that you come across without knowing what they do or how “sure” you are in programs validity then you literally aint getting banned. And this is coming from someone who has 3300 hours in Destiny 2 that has had MULTIPLE false ban waves (also reverted) and Siege with over 6000 hours played. both games which use BE anticheat extensively.
