Firstly thank you your answers. It contain some information for me. If you not mind i add some note/comment to your statements.

If it not a fault of battle eye why need the battle eye the OS username? It’s a personall data and it doesn’t belong to anyone. Neither to the developers nor to Battle Eye. It has no effect on detecting cheats. Developers should remove this function because it acting as a spyware.

Yeah it have a huge disadvantage and a big stupid thing … just an example:
i buy a card from 2nd hand and the seller used cheat and got banned… brilliant solution… from this, my account also possible to lost when i use 2nd hand bought card… if the MAC address change/cloning exist i imagine physicall number change also exist… if it possible this function is useless…

In this case i intrested in what mean the ‘etc’. If based on game name and account ID not able to identify account which is the unique ID which requested? If the account ID not unique it contain more than one questionable security issue…

(If game name account ID not unique which are the unique ID? What understand behind the ‘etc’? email address password, 2 step authentication phone number or/and registration date? That is the questions.)

'in the EULA posted above, you can feel free to look at what they grab. They can’t get your email by themselves, but might be able to with Gaijin to confirm if its a cheater or not.

E-mail is not part of the unique ID and Battle Eye not collect it. (note: Somewhere need to evaluate the collected data and it happen in 3rd party or in Gaijin side.) The other question is in which side evaluate collected datas?If it in 3rd party side, it’s a data leak from Gaijin to 3rd party to confirm cheater or not…if the evaluation happend in Gaijin side it’s OK, Gaijin got datas from BE and confirm cheater or not.

A cheat is an external program, outside of War Thunder and Battleye right? Battleye being an AC needs to have access to files (outside) of the game, as the cheats will be used outside the game. I was trying to show an example, that if battleye had to grab a file relating to a detection, they would, and that the file they are grabbing might contain the name of the OS user, as the external program created it that way.

Correct. That is why I had added a “yes I know there are drawbacks” in that response portion. There are ways of circumventing this, but it requires the know-how that the average user WILL NOT know how to do. That is why it is always recommended to buy New, straight from the manufacturer. (I understand if you can’t, but that is the risk involved).

I am unaware of how specific Gaijin does their user creation. But there’s normally a UUID (unique user ID) for each person. This would be different from the Game Name, but still tied to it. There might also be a hidden identifier that normal users are unaware of. There also might be ways cheaters can attempt to circumvent the naming/ID schemes.

Firstly, your emails/passwords/MFA/Phone# are not going to be stored in plain text in your war thunder game lol. If someone wanted to get those, they would install a Cookie Hijacker and go after your browsers. IF they were able to grab the items mentioned above, they are going to be hashed and have protection around it rendering it unreadable.
There are most likely regulatory bodies surrounding this in the EU, I am unaware of ones in the US.
But Gaijin already has your data, and I can imagine a scenario like this:

BE detects a cheat occurrance.
BE logs, grabs data, send to their server for analysis.
BE verifies cheating, automation is sent to Gaijin with the info from the detection.
Gaijin then reviews the data, determines several factors (login location vs past/UUIDs) to confirm a cheat.
Gaijin places a marker on your account (other AntiCheats do this), and you get banned in the next wave.

Isnt it oh so interesting that the 20 cheat makers happened to be… khm redacted? And that they were responsible for 40k+ cheaters? Which turned out to be most of them because the effect of the ban wave was profound on EU servers. Never again did gameplay feel as legitimate as it was during that month following the cheat code leak.
Bring back the Asia server !

It doesnt go through gaijn, though, at least for the global bans. That is battleeye managed only, and going to gaijn will not help. There is quite literally nothing they can do. This means that if you were banned other BE-enabled games, you will also be banned from WT.

BE also makes it quite clear that in their mind false bans do not exist at all, have it in their FAQ that their software will interfere with some processes on your computer (Quite literally just fan software), and there are numerous examples of false bans/data leaks occurring.

If these bans were handled via the game itself, and not BE I would not mind, but they are not.

and it also makes some AV software freak out, like Windows Defender and windows users are advised to uninstall and not use BE and reintall it if you musr=t (duue to BSOD)

Should we ban the mouse and keyboard too, because it’s an unfair advantage vs a console player?

If Gaijin just hired these sound mod guys and made the realistic sounds standard for the whole game, it would be problem-solved.

I dislike cheaters as much as the next guy and have concerns with false positives. As I’m sure anyone does with a game they may have spent money on. However, the person in this thread constantly having their posts taken down and deeming anyone who has concerns with BEAC as a de-facto cheater is exhibiting psycho level behavior lol.

Wont make a difference , the cheating sites will work around it as they have done in many games with various Anti-Cheat software.
Have been playing games long enough to know they just re write their software to the current build of anti cheat over and over.
Yes some may get banned but it wont stop the problem, it never does.
If some person is going to pay a certain website AA all that money for a 50/50 chance of being banned then more fool them.
Cant wait to see the usual Clans and names go “missing”

gaijin should intentionally sell fake cheat software with an internal hook . when it is activated, the hook ping gaijin and they ban his account. then write in an official post once a month just how good the anti-cheat is. i know a few dev that does that. it would work marvels.

Thank you Im asking because Im on console and I got myself some new toys for Christams (2S38 and Leopard 2A4M) and I want to try them, but would be more confortable if new anticheat system is implemented across the board.
Anyway tnx I will wait for little bit longer at least until this event pass.

Question; I was recently gifted a Wacom drawing tablet, and it requires a driver to function and allow the pen to work as mouse.

Would there be any possibility that this software or the pen, and/or having the tablet plugged in while I play, may cause a false positive?

I am still worried about the claims I read stating that legitimate software like this (some even mention the Corsair drivers, RGB software, etc) may lead to a permanent loss of an account.

EDIT: I also installed Microsoft PowerToys in order to be able to stick/pin a Google tab while I’m drawing, in order to to watch tutorials and references while I learn to draw… I wonder if this, too, may cause any false positives? God, it’s so stressful to worry about this. I don’t know if I just gave in to the fear mongering or if those shared concerns are legitimate, but I can’t help but to worry deeply about my account.

I would think its pretty unlikely as there is no reason to think that peripheral drivers are malicious, but if you are still worried you can run the game through a 2nd machine to avoid the kernel level detection.

I have a Huion tablet and so far so good, I got the BattlEye update today and nothing bad happened, as long as you get signed drivers from Wacom and not some dodgy third party website you should be good. And yes I have PowerToys too, all clear. I might even get a new computer to install software on, I am kinda paranoid about it too.
