VT4 and WZ1001 br

Spec-wise, I can’t see that they are equal in any way?

Engine power: WZ1001 win
Reverse speed: WZ1001 win
Main cannon: WZ1001 win
Secondary, top-mounted mg: WZ1001 win
Gunner optic: WZ1001 win

Overall protection looks identical enough, so why ain’t they at least .3 apart?

I’ve always disagreed with VT4 being above WZ1001 (or even in the same tree branch, but that’s another story). I assume this is why Gaijin rates the VT4 like it does:

Spoiler

Though the reaction time on the APS is so laughable that you’re often damaged by the missiles you do swat, lol.

I hadn’t got the ZTZ99A yet but I can see it is basically the WZ1001 with a shorter barrel, so it’s still better than the VT4 while they are all magically being placed at 12.3. Compression hadn’t kicked it yet I guess

The VT-4s are 11.7 tanks above 12.0 for some reason.

Both fire the same round.
Both have similar mobility.
MG isn’t impactful.
Gunner optics are similar.

It’s because Gaijin’s latest top tier decompression BR changes were absolutely horrible. It’s incredibly ridiculous that all 4 Leclercs are 12.7, the same BR as 2A7/122s. Or how the M1A2, M1A1 Clickbait, and TKX(P) are 12.0, incredibly low. There is no reason behind this, except possibly player statistics and major nation bias.

Mobility is not similar. The VT-4 only has a 1200hp engine and half of the reverse speed. Maneuverability is the most important stat at top tier.

ZTZ-99A/WZ1001:
0 - 20/60: 2, 4, 6, 9, 15.
0 - -17: 1
Traverse: 9.

VT4:
0 - 20/60: 1, 3, 6, 11, 17.
0 - -17: 1.4.
Traverse: 9.

The mobility is similar.
That’s both on level 0 crews with 23 rounds of same-ammo loaded.

What are you going on about?
The VT-4 has a 23.1 hp/t and the WZ-1001 has 27.3 hp/t
The VT-4 has a max reverse speed of 17km/h and the WZ-1001 has 34km/h

Not that it matters but the VT-4 tops off at 70km/h vs 75km/h for the WZ-1001.

As shown with the practical test numbers, the paper information of “HP/T” isn’t always useful.

the paper information of twice the reverse speed is quite useful

Hmm, I also noticed that the gun depression even though is -5, feels a lot worse than wz1001 which also -5, because the same spots I’ve used with wz simply not possible to lower the gun on the vt4.

Jesus, kinda regret wasting 1mil lions to expert this thing, should have waited for the ZTZ99A.

As @БЕИ poitned it out, the VT4 has only -5° of gun depression over the sides. Over the front its more like 4° or 3.5°, which makes a huge difference. Its also leads to awkward situations when you aim while turning your hull.

I really want to like the VT4 but objectively the MBT2000 is a better tank despite it being a 11.7 tank (and actually one of the weaker 11.7s).

And this thing has even better gun depression than all the 12.3s lol

The VT4/A1 is a bit of a disappointment in WT, offering slightly improved survivability and vertical traverse speed for the 125. Compared to its predecessors, the MBT-2000 and Al-Khalid, it lags behind in every other aspect. From the looks of it receiving those spall liners has cemented their BR’s, unfortunately.

VT-4 has -6 over the front, not 4.
VT-4’s peak depression is around -7 when not looking straight forward.

-6 degrees

“-5” degree (definitely not)

-5 degree

I know its not a super accurate comparison but you get an idea.

So thats complete bs

@ponnes
I’ve added screenshots:

At 27.5 degree and 42.5 degree you can see a clear jumps in gun depression and from there on it gets progressively worse due to the forward tilted turret. That means that at +/-42.5 degree the VT4 has its max gun depression of -5 degree that is listed on the statcard.

The exact values dont really matter, my point is that the VT4 has worse gun depression compared to the 99A and its just one more reason not to pick it over a 99A or 1001.

@ponnes
No, the -5 is the gun relative to the turret ring, not the hull.
Look at the x-ray of VT-4, the turret ring is angled downward.
So that -5 becomes -6 to -7.
