At least it can be defeated with a flare. Then the Mig-23MLD is forced to fight with gun only too… I get it, you just like steam rolling the mig23MLD
and then you will still cry about the Mig-23MLD flight model
Do you think there is a difference between my F-4E and yours to cause you to have issues, and me not, or do you think its a difference in application
The only time multipath reliably gets defeated is in top down attacks, if the MiG-23 is above you in altitude, you can also shoot your aim-7e2 at it…
That is not how the aim7e2 on the f4e works… you have to notch the F-4E the same way you have to notch the MiG-23 in MTI or any PD radar…
Which is overperforming considerably but the devs wont set it to IRL performance. Would hurt the soviets too much,
so when are you finished moving the goalpost
i get it you dont have any good arguments thats why you just rely on fallacies to argument
You mean like most planes in WT that aren’t the MiG-29?
Or you just using an F-4 with PD?
Please provide video evidence of you locking and engaging a low flying Mig-23MLD
Not if the radar wont lock, which seems all the time. Even in ACM at 8km at which point, ive already been fired at by an R-24R and have to defend
Well… this is all that is happening to me. The target drops one chaff and the radar locks onto the chaff. You dont need to notch a SRC radar, only PD radars, I thought you were knowledgable about this game. SRC just go for the biggest radar sig and thats the large calibre chaff.
You realize that the sparrow is still cw, just mantain the lock and the missile will find the target, there it is the same as on the mig 23 when it doesnt have a lock with the mti
Please demonstrate locking onto a Mig-23MLD flying below 500ft with the F-4Es SRC radar. it doesnt work , even with ACM.
Barely locks onto something at 1-2k ft
keep coping please
Do you think I get my F-4s confused?
I don’t do requests
See: all prior messages
Yes… which does nothing to the guidance of the AIM-7E2… simply hold lock…
Correct… but that’s not how CW missiles work in War Thunder… the AIM-7E2 requires a notch regardless because it will still track off your remaining signal…
You’re going to feel really stupid when you go and actually test if the AIM-7E2 fired from the F-4E can be lost just by chaffing, and not by notching. In fact, we can test it right now so we can skip straight to the you being wrong part.
@Morvran
Eeeeeh, I know we both dislike MiG-23 since those spits salvia over the dead fuselage of Tonka in ARB
But feels like defending F-4S in event mode with ‘we also need to remove MiG-23MLD’ is a bit of whataboutism.
Well, I mean, F-4S aren’t the default loadout for the USA while MiG-23MLD are the default for the USSR in the event.
If we remove MiG-23MLD in the event, newcomers are probably gonna have a hard time throwing a nuke without CCIP.
You need to chill down a bit, and concentrate on why F-4S can break the balance would be better ig?
You have yet to actually prove me wrong.
So? To me, it just sounds liek you are coping
If youre flying at 500ft 90% of the shots wont even be using mti just the regular lock as on the f4e since the targets needs to be under you, the mld is mti is still far inferior than a proper pd mode
This is precisely my point though, if we limit to solely the vehicles available by default, then the soviets have a MASSIVE advantage with basically their best plane sub 12.7. Bluefor dont. even with the upgrade to 9Ls dont really actually do much unless the target is basically AFK.
It could still be waaaay more balanced that it is currently. Just remove R-24Rs from the default Mig-23MLD and suddenly the balance of power becoems more equal, both sides are basically forced to gun only
F-4E is barely worse than MLD in the event… your proposed “solution” to make the MiG-21 the USSR jet would create a far larger gap in performance.
75%+ of kills from AIM-7E2 btw.
nope even without the r24 you would still be in here crying about the evil r-23r that dosent give launch warnings
Im flying at sub 100ft, and forced to defend constantly vs R-24Rs being fired at me. meanwhile, my radar will not, under any circumstances, lock in return. Even if I defend against the R-24R, im still forced onto the defensive and unable to do the same in return.
So clearly the MTI mode is working well enough most of the time (I personally think the “MTI on the MLD being really hard ot use” is just total exergeration, especially as someone told me the other day its been fixed)

At this point you shitting on Soviets being overpowered in this event has to be bait. I also want to see the waves of MiG-29s you mentioned because most of the time the most players I seen using a MiG-29 or Yak-141 not surpassed 2 per match.
You can get a SARH kill with Aim-7F-2 just like you can with the R-24R, don’t expect different nations to have equal vehicles for a event. In a scale of effiency in this event in the free airplanes Aim-7E would be the worst, followed by Aim-7F, then Aim-7F-2 and then R-24R because it has IOG, but Aim-7F-2 can be as good considering you can get double. Sincerly r/Warthunder sub-Reddit will be much more supportive torwards your recent posts.
Going to need you (@Morvran) to address:
- The MiG-21 is not an equivalent to the F-4E and is a far worse aircraft for this event.
- The F-4E requires you to notch to defeat the AIM-7E2.
