I’ll grab more stuff in a few hours. I got stuff I gotta do before I can continue this.
Not the correct kind though
The SAC mentions them, oh cool I can’t post on forums thanks gaijin real helpful.
For which skyraider is your suggestion?
I’ll grab more stuff when I can to support this being the same panel. It’s very busy for me rn.
I have material prepped for the XBT2D-1 Dauntless II, AD-1, AD-4N, AD-7/A-1J, A-1E, A-1G, and I might include the VA-195 Dambusters AD-4 as a bonus. I’ve got a massive collection backing my stuff which allows for 4-5 manuals per aircraft with clarifications and page numbers for each. The manuals will be linked directly and free to view so there’s no room for arguments or more ahistorical changes. I’ve been building this for about 2 1/2 years now so it should be a “end all be all” wave of suggestions/fixes.
I also have model/inaccuracy/missing parts fixes prepped for the AD-2, AD-4, A-1H, French AD-4, French AD-4NA and plenty of documentation for each that will accompany these. Hell I even went and manually digitized footage that was untouched since Vietnam that I’m including.
Again just waiting on FOIA requests to come back before I proceed with posting so I can button everything up. I’m throwing the book at them this time. This all started with the ahistorical ammo change fueling me to do this kinda out of spite. Been in contact with multiple official archives including those from the USAF and Navy so I make sure I cover all my bases and leave no room for error. VNAF archives are unfortunately basically no longer existent so pulling solid information for them directly is a bit hard to do.
Thats cool, but how do you know it wont just get ignored and not get passed to the devs at all?
I’m hoping it’ll be so much info that’s organized in such a way that it’s like “well if we pass this and implement it we’ll never have to worry about these aircraft ever again”
Especially considering 90% of my sources are straight up manuals and it’s like at least 30 manuals overall (I haven’t counted in a while but it’s a lot) it would be hard to pass up I’d think.
I still have like 15 manuals to go through and add into the report/suggestion as well. Again my main hold up is the FOIA requests so I don’t wanna lose train of thought and wanna make sure everything is squared away before moving onto the next bit.
Well thats good to hear, hope your report will get passed.
Thank you!
Damn, your dedication to the Skyraider especially is quite impressive
This started as a passion project and turned into “well then I could actually get a lot fixed if I compiled this” then to “oh my gosh why are there so many inaccuracies” to “well if nobody else is gonna do it right and leave practically no room for error or disputes, it’s better I do it and make an end all be all thing.”
I unironically might just write my dissertation on the Skyraider because of how much information I’ve compiled 💀
Skyraider is my favorite plane but I intend on doing a similar thing for the A-37, B-26K Counter Invader, and maybe a few others. I have some material on these already but I’d need to refine it and add more.
Edit : Some of the other aircraft I’m potentially going to do a similar thing for, on top of the other two, is the AT-28 Trojan, OV-1 Mohawk, Convair Charger, Lockheed LARA, and PA-48 Enforcer.
I feel ya on the whole passion project thing. For the longest time (and truthfully still), mine is/was the F-20 lol
