Summary: Currently, information regarding the capacity of first-stage ammunition racks (autoloader cassettes or ready racks) is hidden from the player in the main UI. Players must rely on external knowledge or inspecting X-ray views to know how many shots they have before their reload rate significantly decreases.

I propose adding visual indicators for first-stage ammo capacity in two key areas: the vehicle stat card and the pre-battle ammunition selection slider. This will significantly improve tactical planning and ammunition management, especially for top-tier MBTs.

Detailed Suggestion:

1. Vehicle Stat Card Update The current stat card only displays the total ammunition capacity. It should be updated to explicitly state the first-stage capacity for vehicles that utilize this mechanic.

  • Current Example (Type 90 B):
    • 120-mm cannon Type 90 L/44 (Ammo: 40)
  • Proposed Change:
    • 120-mm cannon Type 90 L/44 (Ammo: 40, First Stage: 18)

2. Ammunition Selection Slider (Loadout Screen) When selecting ammunition before spawning (as seen in the provided screenshots), the slider bar is currently a uniform color representing the total capacity.

I propose adding a visual delimiter to this slider to indicate the “safe limit” of the first-stage rack.

  • Visual Marker: A distinct vertical tick mark on the slider showing exactly where the first-stage capacity ends (e.g., at the 18-shell mark for the Type 90).
  • Color Coding: The portion of the bar representing the first-stage rack could be a brighter color (e.g., bright yellow), while the portion representing hull storage could be a darker shade (e.g., dark orange or brown).

Proposed UI variants for first-stage ammo rack display.

Benefits:

  • Improved Tactical Awareness: Players can instantly see how many rounds they have at maximum reload speed.
  • Better Ammo Management: Players can easily slide their ammo count to exactly match the ready rack limit, minimizing the risk of carrying dangerous excess ammo in the hull without needing to memorize exact numbers for every tank.
  • New Player Friendly: It makes complex mechanics like autoloaders and ready racks more intuitive to understand without requiring outside research.

I think one addition that could be helpful to this and others is the ability to change your ammo amount while in hanger (in the X-ray View). This would make it simpler when trying to take the most ammo you can while still remaining a tank and not a bomb.

Great ideas, no downside as long as the UI clutter can be managed.

Staging is not implemented on every vehicle, especially at the lower tiers, so hopefully some attention here will rub off.

+1! I imagine this being immensely helpful(especially since I can’t ever remember first stage ammo count)
