The JA-37C should recieve its 9L’s and be moved to the same BR as the JA-37D as of currently.
Next is the JA-37D, which carried RB-99 (AIM-120) should be moved to 12.7 and receive its RB-99, as it has a similar capability to the F-14’s at that BR.

13.3 or 13.7. it gets at least 4 amraams and 2 9l/m and an okay FM.

You haven’t even played, either of the viggens, so…
Fly it then you can talk.
It’s L’s, so no IRCCM, and the FM is the least competitive of the BR bracket.
It would literally be a worse version of the Gripen at that point, at the same BR.
No matter what, AMRAAMs should be kept 13.0 exclusively not 12.7, where 11.7 Mig23s have to try and dodge them.
Still, J8F same BR, 2 PL12s and 4 PL8 (aka Python 3) except HMD pretty similar, but Viggen gets more AMRAAM I guess.

No HMD, AIM-9L, ok-ish radar, an airframe which is only good at the 11.3 - 12.3 range and a bad RWR. Even with 4 AIM-120s it’s not 13.3 or 13.7 worthy.
Agree with OP though. The entire implementation of the viggen is just confusing as the JA37D we have now is identical to the historical JA37C. The entire reason behind the JA37Ds development was the integration of AIM-120s.

Also found this “Facklor” on it, I’d assume that the CM box we have built in?
13.0 is as low as it can go, probably weaker than the ICE and F3 so probably not 13.3, but easily on par with the FA2.

So viggen D uses BOL pods under its outside pylons?

The Swedish might have only run BOL with Chaff/ BOL “flares” might have been a later thing and BOL started out as chaff only (i cant recall)
But BOL does have “flares” so its fine.
Besides, they barely work currently with how nerfed they are
Ahh, I guess I just didn’t notice because it didn’t directly have equippable BOL like the gripen.
As with the way it works in game, you can carry all flares as the LCCM and all Chaff as BOL if you have separate binds like me.
13.3 would be fair as the flight model is much better than the F4F ICE
