After watching the video again I’m convinced they don’t play their own game. A lot of the responses were backhanded insults to the players.
Spoiler

In the previous dev streams BVVD literally crashed for many times when taking off from carriers, and once even managed to commit suicide with his own bomb.
According to moderator from russian forum, bvvd is only playing naval arcade from time to time
you mean : Every devstream? :D
so basically “we’re too lazy to do any meaningful changes”. All we’ll get is light reshuffling, randomly move a few vehicles up or down 0.3BR and call that decompression
at this point AI could easily generate the whole Q/A videos because most of the answers are the same variations of “we don’t care” or “we don’t want to” we’ve heard so many times over last 10+ years, just with a little different wording
I’ve read them, though I see it won’t solve it anyways and even offered for personal objectives most of these normies will skip it and do global objectives anyway, regulars even because why would you want a lesser reward and see it as last resort.
Also I had a new idea as well, votekick after 1st useful action. If a player consumes too many points vs everyone else within a useful action, a player can issue a votekick to a player that does such behavior, barred them from further disruptive gameplay. I just have 2 matches where an AH-64E player just ignore everyone else to have chance and they even have full JAGM loadout
another simpler option could also by making AGM-179, CM-502KG and BA-11 reload significantly longer as in 4-5mins so everyone has a breather, for short term balancing. not putting LMUR here as I aware they only able to carry 8 of them max (or put their reload to 2 min). Spike carriers probably could take into account or not but they’re not as disruptive as the first 3 that often hop into Heli PvE most of the time these days
This guy says the new interface is a lot of work… well, isn’t that your job?
So anything that requires a lot of work is ruled out? Imagine I go to my workplace and tell my boss that if he asks me to do something that takes a lot of effort, I just won’t do it…
Of course, our money is needed. I get it. They don’t even try to be empathetic with us, that’s how it feels… so if we play along, does that mean everything is fine?
I’m paying almost 3 euros per liter for gas just because I really like it and enjoy it, right? xD Comedy… I think many more people would play and fewer would quit if they actually listened to the players. But anyway, let’s not disturb them… the new premium vehicle for $80 is in the works, so they’re busy with something else right now. :)
What Tech Mods pass onto devs =/= what devs will do.
There is no “Denied After Consideration” category on the forums.
@gozer
If decompression never happened, Typhoon would currently be 12.7 or less.
What’s even worse is that people still give them money.
In all honesty, keeping this game alive for more than a decade by simply adding more and more slop on top of archaic game modes is an impressive feat.
Gaijin really knows how to sell things to the average consoomer.
That “archaic” game mode currently has 135,000 on Steam with a 24 hour peak of 166,900… Battlefield 6.
Clearly, people love the conquest game mode [called Domination in War Thunder].
Yeah, a lot of people really like Conquest and Domination, and I’ve seen in game people who hate anything other than Tank CQC and Air RB instant deathmatch. I get it when they say the playerbase wants this. There’s even people who want attackers and bombers REMOVED from Air RB. Where else can they play?
Those sorts of casual players don’t engage with the forums. There’s a clear niche with players who heavily invest their time and money into the game and get involved on the forums, and it tends to have a huge overlap with the sorts of people who really want slower paced gamemodes, or at least gamemodes with more varied and strategic objectives. They don’t exist. Or exist for 2 days in the middle of the week.
It’s extremely disheartening to hear the official response be “Players love playing our one mode. If you want different modes for your vehicles, stop playing”. I didn’t make a conscious decision to stop, but… I haven’t played once since I heard that.
Lol, Speaking of…
that’s less than 2 week wtf is error message
166k for a newly released AAA title, actual rookie numbers.
That aside, I was admiring Gaijin how they managed to keep the game going with minimal investments towards decade old modes, by just adding more and more tech that come with their own problems and balance issues. Guess the community doesn’t care all that much about unbalance.
the community doesn’t even care about gameplay basics
the sheer fact that ammo detonations are STILL RANDOM is really telling of that
fuel tank explosions are random as well
but they throw a fit if you dare not include a shitty top tier tank for a nation that doesn’t even need one…
This video single-handedly killed almost all of my hope in the future of this game.
This game will continue being how it is now for the foreseeable future, how sad.
Cntrl c+v spg, undertiered premiums and now anime… art direction is gone and so is the atmosphere the game once had.
I’ll probably still grind the fomo mig 25 event but after that: “With one or three objectives, they’d have already stopped playing.”
Okay I agree with the primary sentiment of this reply, but I still love the weird fascination some users have with being angry or displeased with the anime content that either can be turned of or simply ignored cause none of the skins included anime characters or anything, its the stupidest fixation of the last couple updates. Again though agree with the primary sentiment here.
Hey wow, a completely different game that is known for the mode and why people play it instead of asking for something different? Really got them this time Alvis.
Another topic on this forum got me thinking that perhaps a better video to have been made would have been an insight into how Gaijin approaches flash point topics within the game; giving players an depth view at the discussions, meetings, and such on how they come to a decision that they truly believe is best for everyone.
To the average War Thunder player, it wouls have been a pointless video. Sure. But to those players who routinely engage in forums such as here or Reddit or on Gaijin streams, it would have meant quite a bit. Or I’d like to think so.
I am not saying it needs to be on something as super hot as the review bombing a few years ago but…maybe it could have been on the topic like ASEAN nations and China. I would have enjoyed seeing a video that was styled like the old school Bungie ViDocs where we got to meet more of the War Thunder staff (if they were comfortable with us seeing them).
But to see Community Managers collecting comments, building reports or whatever their method is, meeting with BVVD or other devs staff, and actually show dialogue happening between the various branches would have been a significant bump in transparency and showing value to player engagement here.
