VFW overpowered tank?

They do, by roleplaying as bots.
Then cry when there’s someone who doesn’t play like a bot

To be fair, Hull break was simply just as bad as overpressure, and this thing would be killed by a 122mm hitting the very edge of the track. It was rough.

Cue the “you cant notch ARH” threads

Meanwhile, I remember hitting a flakbus in the engine with 152mm APHE for zero hull break. Such an inconsistent thing.

Yeah. Hull break was mega inconsistent, I don’t disagree. Its part of what made balancing so hard

lol no, 1 heat or HE is the solution (iam a main vfw), even a .50 cal can kill easly

I cannot wait for the next sales.

I was thinking of making another post rating different 13.0+ aircraft and comparing them with each other (specifically ones I’ve played or know a lot about)

Id say go for it. You can wrap it as sort of sales guide even.

True, it’s unfortunate that’s I’ll be stuck with USA, Germany, Russia, Japan and France but I could get help from other people I trust for other nations.

Anyways this is spiralling into off-topic

this clearly tells me you know absolutely nothing about stuff, if only good players play the vehicle the stats are inflated duh

Prove it

that’s just overpen, you can .50 it or use HE.
Maybe even try shooting it in a location where the round will actually fuze?

It takes special kind of person to call tank OP because of paper mache armor

Whole survivability thing is based on peoples unability to use HE shells

I swear the vfw is not op but it is just disgusting in all kinds of ways. Of course when i get killed by one i’ll know to prepare some he shells, and it will likely die to it or some plane, but its the first time you see it that just makes it a horrible experience. 80% of all vfw I’ve seen are bushed up to an unfathomable degree and they always sit in some random position that gets ignored by most. Its gun at its br means instant hanger for whoever is on the receiving side and even if you manage to get the first shot off you have to either kill the gunner or the breech with the ap shell you definitely have loaded, which is too inconsistent to bet on at longer than 500m, the range the vfw is most effective at.
It’s a case of a vehicle that you pretty much can’t prepare for in the first fight and then the turntables the next, which just makes it incredibly boring and skill-independent.

SPG with no armour relying on concealment to stay alive, fork found in kitchen, more news at 11.

Yeah, when you play a situational TD it is normally a bad idea to try and break through enemy positions with a frontal assault, what are we even talking about?

Correct, as it should be, because it is the literal only thing that makes the vehicle worth at all. The VFW is the gun.

I must also point out that you meet the same gun by playing against tech tree vehicles like the Waffenträger and the Nashorn (which is even at 5.3!). Just like you can see a 17 pounder at low tier with the Archer, or a 105mm at 3.7 on the Dicker. These are all terrible vehicles save for the gun, so of course the gun is exceptional.

Yes, you actually need to aim. Shocking.

You need to learn weak spots for heavies, you need to learn crew and ammo placements for vehicles with no armour, and you need all of the above if you’re playing without APHE.

At its BR a Breda will also send you to the hangar if it surprises you and you fail to hit gunner or ammo. At its BR, the SU-100P will do the same thing if you fail to hit its gunner or its ammo.

No offense, but all I see here is the classic self centered WT complaint, “how do I deal with this challenge without actually overcoming it?” While never asking yourself how you would perform if you were using any of the vehicles mentioned above, and how they’re supposed to do anything if you nerf the only redeeming quality they have.

Or to put it more accurately, it’s a vehicle that requires set up in order to get the “easy” kill. Welcome to TD life. If you’re not prepared for a lethal sniper overwatching a sightline, you need to work on your preparation, not complain about the sniper.

So on a map like Ardennes or Hurtgen Forest you are forced into a sniper battle with the vfw in something like a m36b2 (same br btw, despite having literally no upsides) in which unless you just happened to have HE loaded are sure to overpen and does nothing on the first shot while the vfw uses its 5.7 railgun to annihilate you because the m36 just happened to have enough armor to fuse anything and block nothing, and the reverse speed makes peek shots impossible. All the while your team in their e8 shermans are molested by the king tigers pushing through the center because 5.7 are 100% going to be uptiered into 6.7. “BUt JuSt fLanK” says the Germain mains as the vfw using its 4sec a pop death stick evaporate 2 hellcats when you are desperately trying to get an HE shell into the breech.

I’m not struggling aginst the vfw, I’m struggling against 5.7 constant full uptiers into 6.7, and the vfw (and their players) just happened to be a counter to the only tactic that still works against the non-pen machines of 6.7.
