You’re missing the point completely. It’s a bit challenging to use it without dying to HE immediately and it’s not played as much. If you are a good player you know how to use it and can do well in it then you paly it for fun. If only good players play a vehicle its stats will go up. Don’t remember which jet exactly it was but years ago some really good players took a bad almost never played jet and just used that to artificaily increase its stats and gaijin moved it up in BR like a month or 2 later. It is just a statistics thing.
AS I already said statistics. when a vehicle is played a lot and let’s be generous and say the best palyers are 20% of the matches, the stats trend downwards towards the worse players. But if not many people play the vehicle a couple good players can make a much bigger impact on the stats
But guess what, majority of players are not driving around loaded for bear with HE. This thing can shoot and reload before most playera have a chance to change up for HE.
Well being unavailable since it’s brief introduction in 2019 has a lot to with it. It’s not played often because it’s rare, not because it’s inneficient.
Just like a couple of bad players can have an impact on the stats, right?
It’s wonderful how some of you like to quote stats when they are convenient, and ignore stats when not convenient.
And maybe, just maybe, it’s possible the vehicle performs well partly because of it’s implementation in the game.
VFW needs to be played in EXTREMELY specific way because either
A) your armor is up which limits your traverse to frontal arc only and makes you a literal cardboard box
B) your armor is down and god help you if you try to play it on any map with obstacles, because you have hitbox of aircraft carrier
all of that on top of bad gun depression.
By the time VFW shuffles into position, match is over.
Just .50 cal it and if you cant, just disable the unprotected gun breech and then load HE.
All n all id take E8 Sherman over VFW any day, any week. Sole exception might be Fire Arc/Prokhorovka in uptier, but then you are dead first plane shows up.
Spacebar
You can just MG it
It’s also easily identifiable so if you’re aware one is in a location you can preload HE
Due to the rarity mostly older, more experienced players use it.
Which inflate the statistics.
Literally compare Maus vs E-100
The upgrades the E-100 has don’t affect it in an incredible way. Just better survivability against HEAT rounds on the side and slightly better forwards mobility in exchange for really bad reverse.
Yet its stats are significantly better than what the Maus has, which is freely obtainable by anyone as long as they can research rank 5 vehicles.
Both vehicles have inflated stats anyways since people primarily ONLY spawn it in a downtier
An even better example are the two He 162s
completely identical except the event one has 100 rounds of 30mm ammo compared to the tech tree one’s 240 20mm rounds.
Yet the event one has significantly better stats. Inflated due to being played by better, more experienced players.
Or the furry tiger and the normal tiger H1
Stats do matter
It’s an incredibly mid tank, you can sneeze on it and it dies.
It’s big, clunky and easy to spot.
You just have skill issue if you think this is an OP tank
Yes it is situational like many vehicles that have crap gun depression (most of the Russian spgs). But when used it can be OP. The reload combined with the very powerful gun that one-taps almost everything it shoots at is why it should move up.
There are many paper Tigers at all BR levels. Weak armor (which in Gaijin’s world view is often the best armor) and rapid-fire gun. Those AFVs at high BRs also have weak armor, but they earn their BR from the ability to disable or kill quickly.
The VFW might not be a rabbit, but in RGB it can achieve 58km/hr and in arcade 63km/hr. That’s hardly slow. In fact it’s faster than many vehicles in it’s BR range.
I’m not suggesting it be jumped to 7.0 or even 6.7 - that would be silly. But IMO a move to 6.0 would be reasonable. Either that or tweak the reload a bit.
RGB?
Also, you’re not hitting that speed realistically on most maps. You’ll be staying at 25-30km/h on average as your highest speeds usually. 40km/h maybe
Have you looked at the reverse speed yet?
Is it though? Vehickes are rare because they were usually hard to obtain (older events were hell) or were only available a long time ago.
Both of those favour skilled Players heavily for even getting those vehicles. And similarly bad players are usually newer to the game and thus have a way smaller chance of having older rare vehicles or even event vehicles from a couple updates ago.
Sure it’s not the best argument, but it does have some merit.
To be fair, Hull break was simply just as bad as overpressure, and this thing would be killed by a 122mm hitting the very edge of the track. It was rough.
I was thinking of making another post rating different 13.0+ aircraft and comparing them with each other (specifically ones I’ve played or know a lot about)
True, it’s unfortunate that’s I’ll be stuck with USA, Germany, Russia, Japan and France but I could get help from other people I trust for other nations.
