Vehicles like Centurion AVRE should be removed from the marketplace

Until HESH is fixed(which it won’t be), this and any other HESH-only dependant premium vehicles(except T58) should be removed from the marketplace. I consider it to be nothing short of fraud to market the AVRE as a playable vehicle - you spend $50 for an underperforming and gimped HE slinger, of which you can find many in almost every tech tree…

The only gimmick this tank has is having the lowest-BR ERA, but it’s just that - a gimmick. Not anything to write home about.

Centurion Mk.5 AVRE isn’t a Marketplace vehicle, is a Golden Eagles-premium vehicle, meaning you should use Golden Eagles to buy the vehicle. The problem isn’t with the vehicle, being dependant on HESH but how it performs, I found out that HESH tend to work the lower the caliber, so the history tells itself with the FV4005, Centurion Mk.5 AVRE and T58.

Marketplace in this context meaning bought with real life money.

AVRE is great fun to use. Is this a troll topic? I see, you have a subpar rating in AVRE, so you’re blaming the vehicle for your deficiencies.

In fairness. HESH is a buggy mess that does not work correctly.

Rather than using British sources, iirc they use Soviet sources and have basically modeled it like regular old HE, and so barely works. I know i’ve had multiple times where light tanks have taken a direct hit from 120mm HESH and i’ve barely scratched the paint.

With Gaijins fundemental refusal to properly model HESH, tanks that are 100% dependent on HESH are in an exceedingly rough state at the moment and that does include the AVRE.

and there are accepted reports for all this, such as:

No one can say HESH is working as it should. But as a whole, the AVRE is still one of the most enjoyable premiums, that will provide a good time to anyone putting in some effort with it. One of my least regrettable purchases in this game.

I stopped playing it like 2 years ago when I hit directly hit a light tank (I dont recall what it was now) and I barely dented it. It then turned around and killed me before I could reload to fire again.

Huh, i’m the opposite. The AVRE is one of the least enjoyable pieces of horse crap i’ve ever played. Most regrettable purchase i’ve made.

All part of the fun.

Two years ago as well:

Yeah, but you rarely have good takes. Don’t you also think all T-72 are trash?

T-72s are objectively bad vehicles yes. They lack reload, reverse, mobility, gun-handling, etc.
In some cases like the T-72A, they lack armor as well.

You never fail to lower the bar, and that’s really saying something.

HESH is dreadful, a disgustingly underpowered and wholly inaccurately modeled shell that has absolutely no redeeming factors and is not in even a single way represented as it should be.

But of course you of all people leapt at the first opportunity to go to a stats website and shout skill issue. Major psychologist field day.

You have a negative KDR in AVRE with a 700 rating overall in it. You just don’t know how to use the vehicle. You shouldn’t be making this topic, because your issue is a skill issue.

I believe last week(?) I hit a Wiesel with the AVRE HESH and it yellowed one set of tracks. 2 weeks ago, I launched three AVRE HESH point-blank at an IS-2 1944, one on each cheek and one on the UFP, greatest extent of damage was barrel + tracks.

3 weeks ago, I hit a BTR-80 straight centre from the side with the Conway’s 120mm HESH. It quite literally did not even turn even a single wheel the piss-shade yellow. I put it on the HESH thread I think.

That’s not even mentioning the game earlier today on Seversk(?) where on 3-4 occasions I got a directly hit on the Tiger 2’s mantlet with the 165mm HESH, and it did zero damage to any of them.

Strangely I’ve found if the AVRE HESH so much as touches anywhere on a Panther, it goes boom. Won’t complain lol

There are a lot of issues regarding light vehicles being 90% empty air and so shells just… dont do anything, but yeah. HESH is just not a viable shell to carry msot of the time. I carry maybe 2 or 3 on the Cheiftain and Challengers, but very rarely fire it and even rarer still it does anything more than give a hit.

I stopped carrying them altogether except for 1-2 in my CR2’s in the rare event I need to dunk an SPAA behind a hill, but even then I’ve found HESH’ing the engine block/drivers seat of a Pantsir or BUK using HESH does nothing. You’re way better off AP’ing a round straight through the tank from front to end if you want to actually kill it. Completely backwards… but fixing HESH doesn’t benefit you know who… on the contrary it would have negative implications, hence it hasn’t been even considered for changes in years.
