What are some vehicles in the game that you have a hot take on. A vehicle that you think is good or bad where most people think the opposite. Or other general hot takes. Curious to know. I personally think the PZH 2000 is extremely unfun. Every time I play it I suffer through the lack of gun depression and always seem to nonpen everything. The Type 99 is the same story but without a laser rangefinder. I will always use the M47 in that lineup over the Type 99. What are your thoughts?
The Fox isnt good.
Sure its quick, but thats about it. Run around the map and hopefully shoot someone in the back. Though I find wheeled vehicles have terrible mobility
The RADEN gun is weak, with a low RoF and shells that dont properly compensate for said low RoF.
With its questionable nerfs, it should probably have a BR drop
Do you have the APDS on the Fox. I think the APHE is useless on that thing because the APDS tends to explode ammo, and it does a decent amount of damage. The APHE cant pen anything but light tanks.
It does have APDS, but I find half the time it doesnt pen either.
The abrams is good, its just the playerbase.
(Ikik, its not to irl standards, but still.)
I agree with that. Good shell, Good RoF, Good sustained RoF, decent mobility and perfectly reasonable survivability.
What Id have for just 1 or 2 of those things on the Chally 2
Tiger I is free RP and SL pinata if you know what youre doing.
The Tiger 1 is op if you know what you are doing. Its just the teams that make me not want to play it.
The majority of Helicopters are overtiered.
I slap them around too much with 76mm M1 to call them OP; anytime i die to them its 100% me being stupid.
I don’t think its as bad as people say but I also don’t think its supposed to be penned from the front by a Panzer III lol
That’s cause the people playing them 90% of the time have no idea wtf they are doing. Most people try to cqc brawl with it like a Churchill or something.
Rn the armor is heavily underestimated…
Opposite to my first.
The Tornado IDS and ADVs are good. Sure they have specific issues, but those could be readily rectified and they could be very competitive at their current BRs, or maybe even slightly higher BRs when given the right fixes and potential buffs.
Tornado F3/ADV is a powerhouse SARH slinger that I routinely slap F-18s with. Its only real weakness is a half finished FM and lack of decent CMs, both of which could be fixed. Even the F3 Late I think is perfectly competitive at 13.0 or even 13.3, but is badly handicapped by the state of BOL. Phimat pod would fix that instantly.
As for the IDSs’, there are issues. Like the 3 at 11.7 should really be 11.3 (MLU has the potential to be 11.7 worthy, but is rather unfinished so is in limbo) and I really want to see some additions for them like HARM and CBU, but beyond that. They do very well. Heck, i’ve gotten base kills and then gone and gotten multiple A2A kills in the GR4, an aircraft that doesnt really have any right being usable, let alone actually quite decent.
Hurricanes are better than Spitfires. Trust me, I love both, but it’s a little disappointing that there is a plethora of spitfires in the Brit TT spanning several BRs while most of the Hurricanes are at lower, start of Rank II BRs.
Spitfire can’t handle much damage while the Hurricane can take a few decent hits to its fabric fuselage.
Not to mention stability–the Hurricane cruises easily while the Spitfire wobbles and swerves like my alcoholic uncle on the interstate (This is within sim, otherwise Spitfire handles fine in RB)
Plus you gonna tell me that there can be anything better than the flying beast that is the Hawker Hurricane? packing 12 MGs in a head-on is extremely fun
It’s not that hot of a take but its sure to anger a few spitfire fanboys
There is a reason why I think you couldnt fly a spitfire until you had flown X number of sorties in the Hurricane IRL iirc.
Most japanese props feel painful to fly once the enemy team is half-way competent. Early spitfires feel the same, alongside Re 2001 CN. Everyone just looks at you and runs away and you’re never catching them. Your only real hope of getting kills is someone getting distracted and getting slow just long enough for you to close the distance.
(Sim, but assume RB should be same.)
The Phantom FGR.2/FG.1 is still very competitive at its BR, so long as you have experience flying them and know what targets take most priority at any given time.
Perhaps it’s not directly referring to a vehicle, but it definitely has to do with a great deal of vehicle, particularly British ones (you can probably guess where this is going)
Solid shot is good.
HE is pretty hit and miss, whereas a well-aimed APCBC shell can reliably take out a gunner or an ammo rack.
Plus, from a learning standpoint, it teaches you where to aim. in Top Tier, ERA renders a lot of explosive-filler ammo obsolete, so knowing how to and where to aim with solid shot is fundamental
I agree with you completely. Solid shot is very good on most British vehicles and is very satisfying to use, like low tier apfsds. I might be biased because 4.7- 5.3 Britain is one of my favorite ranges in the game, especially the TOG 2 and QF 3.7 ram.
