Hello everyone :), what I would like to introduce today is VBL ALBI.

Introduction

Panhard VBL, also known as VBL, is a French wheeled 4x4 all terrain vehicle manufactured by Panhard. It began mass production and service in 1985 and was later exported to other countries. It has a wide range of uses, including anti tank, transportation, espionage, reconnaissance, air defense, and more. This post introduces an air defense type equipped with Mistral missiles.

When installing the three defense system, the vehicle weighs 4 tons and uses a Peugeot XD3T 95HP diesel engine with 95 horsepower. It has a maximum speed of 95 km/h on the road and a maximum travel of 600 km. The body protection level is STANAG level 1, which can withstand 7.62 × 51 NATO bullets.The vehicle can be airdropped or floated at a speed of 5.4km/h.

VBL ALBI is an export model specifically designed for short-range air defense interception, equipped with Mistral 2 air defense missiles. The ALBI turret produced by MBDA consists of a launching device equipped with two Mistral 2 anti-aircraft missiles with a range of 6.5 kilometers. The turret is equipped with thermal vision optics in all directions. A total of 6 “Mistral 2” air defense missiles can be carried.

This vehicle is mainly used for short-range air defense, targeting low altitude helicopters and other aircraft. It is not equipped with a search radar and has a thermal imaging observation system. There are three people in the car, including the commander, gunner, and driver.

VB2L ALBI is a VB2L armored vehicle equipped with Mistral 2 air defense missiles. It has excellent maneuverability and can transfer at a very fast speed. Its main weapons are two Mistral missiles. As it has only six missiles in its arsenal and no search radar, it is recommended to use a br of 9.0.
