Starting off with the video its self it mentions how the US shifted its forces to quick response and started producing more wheeled like tanks to bridge the gap between heavy ABCTS to much lighter IBCTS. This shift in strategy gave birth to many light tank programs that many here have already asked for.
The big question to ask is how come its been six years since the last wheeled light tank (M1128 in NOV 2020) and its just now were seeing new variants. Just to recap what has happened since then,
Germany: boxer Swatgrnif, Luchs,
Latest update ^
Japan: Type 87 RCV, Type 87 RCV (P), CTWV RCV
Israel: Eitan - this past update
China: ZTL 11
These are all great additions but the lack there of for some nations, forces players to grind a whole different tree to experience vehicles that could’ve been added to other nations years ago. Instead we see copy paste T80s and T72s littering the top br’s .
the problem is that most of the US wheeled light tanks would all be at similar BRs and do similar things, so gaijin isnt in a rush to add them all at once
but a lav-at would be nice
wheeled tanks currently exist and arent exactly obsolete just because of 35mm aa (and even if they were you could say the same about any light tank, which also arent obsolete)
maby i worded it wrong sorry i more ment to say that the 35mm spaa problem has made light tanks especially autocannon tanks around the 8.0-9.7 range feel outclassed as 35mm spaa are offen faster, better pen, better firerate, better armour and have better turret truverse. and while it doesent make light tanks unplayable it can make them feel underwelming and helpless e.g cv9030 vs geped
and agein sorry for the misunder standing i will be more carefull with how a say things in the future.
