It does have a higher skill ceiling, but an expert at propeller planes will not do well in an F-15, just like someone who almost exclusively plays the F-15 wouldn’t be that good playing a P-47.
You can only learn so much from lower BRs.
Top tier shouldn’t just be for experienced players, and low tier shouldn’t just be for new players.
I think it would be nice if there was a reserve style BR, but around 7.0-8.0. That way people who don’t want to play WWII suff can skip it, and it would just allow for better all around progression.
Using “Low tier isnt just for new player , top tier isn’t just for experienced” here won’t work simply because you completely miss my point. What can you learn from top tier that you can’t learn from low tier ? Top tier is just low tier but with more additions to it. You still have to progress through low tier and learn about the game the basic and develop your game sense. Not using a massive cope as one of the many reasons to justify new player buying their way into top tier and suffer not only himself but people around him. Little Timmy gonna suffer and the enemy sure as hell gonna make sure he feel every moment of it. Also your suggestion suck , why would you give player reserve style BR, but around 7.0-8.0. Literally the most compressed BR with heavy and heat slinger. All you want is to justify the buying of top tier vehicle for new players. That cope simply wouldn’t work
If newer and inexperienced players must be locked from modern vehicles… then experienced players must be locked from anything that isn’t modern vehicles, right?
If tiers aren’t meant to sort vehicles by period of time but rather meant to represent the progression of a player… you don’t want inexperienced players “being noobs at Top Tier”, but you wouldn’t want experienced players “seal clubbing at Low Tier”, right?
Because experienced players shouldn’t have the right to enjoy WW2 machines, the same way apparently newer players shouldn’t have the right to enjoy modern machines.
Time to tell the Iraq veteran father of 2 who just worked his ass off all day that he can’t just buy the cool Premium M1A1HC depicting the vehicle he served in because “he’s an inexperienced noob” and that “he has to learn the game spending hundreds of hours across months playing completely different vehicles he isn’t even interested in”, I guess.
Low Tier and Top Tier are practically different video games- that’s why the whole “you must learn to play an Abrams by playing an M3A1 first” narrative doesn’t make any sense.
In Top Tier, you get the best mobility ingame while being completely and fully stabilized, you have a laser rangefinder that automatically sets your gun’s aiming with the click of a button, you have thermals that reveal anyone’s position, you have gun traverse speeds that allow you to instantly lock target on anyone even on the move, you have shells capable of penetrating nearly everything at any angle…
If anything, modern machines are WAY easier to play and learn that lower tier ones.
This is like telling someone that, in order to be able to drive a 2024 automatic car, they must first master driving a 1912 harvesting tractor.
I mean, okay? The sob story doesn’t really change anything, everyone who picks up a new game is gonna be bad at it as a beginner. As my family/parents had to relocate twice due to wars im jumping with joy whenever I send a 120mm round his way xD
Not necessarily, and again- Top Tier is literally easier to play and learn than low tier, so, if anything, it goes against this narrative.
Not to mention many people are just inherently better or worse at games (including new ones) and may have backgrounds that allow them to perform even better even as inexperienced players
The only sob story here is players attempting to gatekeep fun from others because they blame them for losing and winning on a videogame is apparently their maximum goal in life instead of just letting others play whatever they want to have fun.
As I said earlier: if newer players should be locked from higher tiers, then experienced players should be locked from anything but high tier. Weren’t tiers made to sort players by experience instead of merely being a way to sort vehicles by historical period of time…?
People treat War Thunder like playing it is a world championship sports event where their “performance” matters more than anyone else’s right to have fun.
EDIT: initially misunderstood you and your point, had just woken up xD.
By all means, they probably should be, this game is pretty double standard with the way people moan about high tier being cancer so they drop down to play something like the L-62 ANTI and give the new players a taste of it.
I propose the inverse, you have a good baseline idea.
Let the cool and chill guys like me enjoy our modern machinery in a carefree way.
The Lv100 “God of War” players who hyperventilate every time they get a death on their scorecard can stick to low tier since that’s apparently the pinnacle to learning and skill full gaming
(we all know that’s not true when they have 20,000 frags in the Yak-3)
Here is my US stats before the skills issues. US player cries, premium buyer or other idiotic comments come to play. All skills, not a single victory on an abrams is due to the stupid tank being able to act like a damm tank, and not I am not an exceptional player i know theres way better than me at there non the less the stats is way above the average idiot running US this days.
The fact that you guys exist doesn’t make up the majority, therefore your opinion on US tanks matters shouldn’t be compare to the problems on your tech trees. Go create your own forums where you can complain about the arietes and challengers. Instead you all come here just to trash talk on players that are trying to make a difference on their tech tree. Abrams needs to be fix, your guys argument comes down to yes, you are right abrams sucks BUT ARIETE and Challenger sucks more. Therefore nothing needs to change. I do play most Nations and have full top tier line ups on USA,USSR,GERm,SWEED,ISRAEL and yes UK is my second main nation.
How about some unity, come together and try to balanced the game on tank at the time? Instead of that weak argument of your tank sucks but mine sucks more so suck it up.
Let’s use nice numbers for this bc I’m too lazy to look at the actual count
Let’s say there are 500 people who use this forum, 300 of them are British mains. You just said that nobody plays Britain, despite them being a clear majority.
By be careful I mean once there’s one of them there’s usually 3-4 more who gang up on you.
