U.S. top tier in my opinion is just underperforming so much in my opinion and I’m wondering if anyone has any clue if we are going to get a 14.7 or 9x any time soon? The 9m, compared to other IR missiles like the Russian and Chinese missiles , is just poor. The 9m can literally be out-pulled and flared off relatively easily compared to other IR missiles. Not to mention you cant even shoot a slightly off bore 9m, which paired with our best 14.3 (f15 GE), leaves the plane utterly screwed in a very close range engagement considering the plane is a boat.

Which brings me to my next point, when are we going to get a plane that bridges the gap between the GE and 14.7? Now I practically have a 4kd in this plane, and don’t get me wrong the plane is great, but before anyone says the f15 GE is a 14.7, save your time because you will not convince me otherwise. The engines are weak, RWR is mediocre, and the plan is built for BVR, but unfortunately with the state of air rb, it forces the aircraft into close engagements at some point. And if you are on the defensive in this aircraft within 8 miles of an enemy aircraft, its a death sentence. The plane cant perform in close range at all, and it is the only plane in top tier that suffers this bad. as for the f18, its the slowest plane in top tier, enough said. And for the f16, it can only carry 6 missiles and is overall a underwhelming aircraft.

Now there is so many changes gajin could make to help the U.S. tech tree perform a little better. The first I would hope they change is to actually take off the artificial nerfs from the f15’s and allow them to go their top speed that is LABELED on the stat card. The f15 is built for BVR so for God’s sake let the plane go its top speed, that would be a great start. another is actually using reliable information that has been reported to fix the 120’s fin deflection so that it can pull harder like it actually does in real life, and i also believe that the 120d has a longer burn stage than what is in game. But for some reason this has all been ignored. So for the love of god when can we expect a 14.7 and 9x to help bridge the obvious gap from the U.S. planes to other planes such as the rafale, sm2, and eurofighter? It has been sooo long and I hope next update they will fix this but i doubt it very much for some reason.

You know the top speed for every jet listed on statcard is just some number they can reach at like 12km alt after 5 minutes of accelerating right? Anyway if they give 9X they would have to also give next generation IR missiles to everyone else so you’re gonna end up in the same position. 9Ms aren’t worse than R-73 or Magic 2 or whatever they are just sidegrades. 9M has way better tracking in some cases such as side aspect (maybe after an enemy has notched your missile, common scenario) or top down.

They should just un-nerf the amraam if anything, but it would un-nerf it for everybody who uses it.

This would change all AMRAAMs just FYI. So not just the US ones.

Wont come in vacuum, dev said multiple times it will be added with rest of the next gen IRs

the f15 is suppose to go mach 2.5, the plane barely sniffs mach 2.33 after 10 minutes on a clean configuration and minimum fuel at high alt.

They could change the FM to allow you to go 2.5 easier but you would still only ever be going like 1.8 in a real match same as all the other jets at top tier

F-15C GE being arguably the best 14.3 in the game.
9X would make vehicles 15.3 - 15.7.

Soviets don’t have R-74 in-game currently.

Then what do you think about Gripen E, Su-30SM/MKM, etc whose acceleration is notably worse?
At a BR that prioritizes boom & zoom, and BVR, over dogfights…

While AIM-120s aren’t nerfed, they are incorrectly under-performing as a missile & should be corrected.

Assuming Gaijin aren’t cowards about next gen IR seekers as they are with current stuff, 9x would put them in a less enjoyable position on account of range rubbish. Far more reliable fix for everyone is introduce more threatening modeling for BVR munitions, and actual game modes instead of Quake ✨But with Planes✨. Or more threatening IR seekers to discourage the fall back to knife fights.

i 100% agree, it is one of the best 14.3’s. But thats not my point, Im really just asking if we are going to get a 14.7. and my point with the engine performance is really just highlighting that its not 14.7 material because i feel like a lot of people think it should be 14.7.
