that’s mostly because none of these missiles get their proper seekerheads/lock ranges… if they all did 9m is nothing special
Yes, I know very very much about the AAM-3. However in game it’s seeker is near identical to the 9M, see prior statements on rangebands.
There is no reason to increase the Typhoons current turn performance. Sea level Mach .65 Turn requirement is 20 degrees per second with 15,500kg weight.
Statshark puts it at just barely above the requirement. In-game testing with trim will put it right around 19.7-20.0 degrees per second.
Max instantaneous turn requirement is 29.7 degrees per second. In-game it is modeled to meet that as well. This is with FBW/Damping turned on.
This assumes countermeasures in game are even historically accurate in their effectiveness. Everything I have seen in my research has suggested the opposite; that all countermeasures artificially overperform to begin with in order to provide gameplay beyond ‘push button…get kill’.
Do you think a handful of the worst chaff in the game being able to defeat 6 AMRAAM launched at point blank range is historically accurate? I don’t even think britecloud would be this effective.
Right… and given the total lack of HOBS most nations have. Giving them a lock range advantage over said HOBS missiles would actualy help to balance things out.
Currently you hold no advantage
don’t ask about 9m pic, idek what to say lol
As you can see only thing thats different is the “blinking” for irccm, which basically does nothing
All chaff of a caliber in game is identicle.
(Fun fact, this includes BOL, BOL chaff is not hampered like BOL flares).
no it has more booster power than 9M
thats not seekerhead… that has nothing to do with lock ranges
it can go farther with a lock
Statshark gets the Typhoon FM wrong. Its underperforming by 1.5°/s currently
No… They arent. They are all just C&P of the soviet examples of each CM type, but probably at their correct “strength”. But the issue is that aircraft are way too cold and its way too easy to notch.
There is 0 justification or explanation for BOL to be less than 1/4 of its IRL performance.
Then whats the problem with buff BOL up to its IRL performance?
Especially as its NOT just the Typhoon affected, but aircraft like the Tornado, Viggen and Harriers are completely crippled by the lack of CMs.
still waiting for documents about the R27ER being as fast as it is btw same reason typhoon underperforms
Yeah… and I swear that thing is impossible to defeat. I dont think ive managed to notch one in like a year. Aim-7M. Stupidly easy. R-27ER, impossible
especially wheny your using AIM7M with no fancy datalink like M/H which is the counter to the ER
it’s underperforming at high alt, overperforming at low alt… like most missiles in the game
technically its the best BVR missile in game as you can LOFT them really high and dome people with them from orbit
to be fair the seekerhead on the 27r/er is overperforming, but gaijin has modeled all sarh missiles with dl to have relock so fairs. the notch angle is also too low for 27r/er, but again gaijin has given them benefit of the doubt
they overperform a lot more than other missiles only missile i know ingame that goes mach 5 is the AIM 54 IRL
yes but look at a AIM-7P and AIM-7M far better tracking due to data link aim 7ms also dont like relocking
Yeah, not surprised. I don’t think the Soviets should have ever gotten them. They would not have suffered with R-27Rs only
7p only. also dl is not supposed to work how it currently does in game for 27r/er as shown here, not sure about 7p
