Plus I play high tier German air the most lmao. Most of this still affects me since there’s quite a few Russian aircraft, and Germany is often teamed with Russia in sim.
Also, how does production date matter?
Any commentary on, the fact, that by your logic:
- F4F Wildcats should be facing off against A6M5 zeros.
- P-47s P51s, F4Us, Wellingtons, lancatsers, B17/25/26/etc should be facing off against Me262, Me163, Hortons
- Ju188, Ju88, Ju87, ju288, me410, me264, bf109, fw190 should be facing off against gloster meteors?
- F4U-4B should be facing off against mig-15s since it wasn’t used in WW2 and has seen most of its service during the korean war?
Literally nobody in their right minds except maybe wunderwaffe types that want tiger IIs fighting Sherman 75s supports any of the above.
If anything, we’re begging for decompression to fix issues of Me262s fighting sabres and mig15s, hortons fighting mig17s, and other scenarios. Even realisitc match-ups of F4U-4B vs Mig15/Yak9 is not supported AND the F4U-4B did managed to get a kill on mig-15s if the claims can be believed.
Why is it so hard to understand?
And if you ask “Why do I even care if you mostly fly WW2 and early cold war aircraft?”
Because absurd imbalance at top tier means stuff gets downtiered. That causes absurd imbalance at a lower tier. This leads to downtiering.
And thus, we are going to end up with sabre on me-262 and horton action. Oh wait, we already got that bad.

We’re going to get Me-262 on Mig-21 action.
I don’t want that. Top tier balance needs to be fixed so the sabres/mig-15s can get yeeted up and so forth without making them underpowered.
Added context: I barely even fly russian planes before you go “russian main.” Japanese and U.S navy planes unless feeling like variety.

Drives me nuts. The Number of times I see that my radar is telling me the target is within the LSZ (let alone in range) but I cannot fire because it wont lock on is really annoying
Then the aircraft should be in different BR brackets.
The Mig-15 is vastly superior to the F4U-4B except for low speed turn fighting. As such, F4U-4B is 5.7 and Mig-15 is 8.3.
The Me-262 is vastly superior to any WW2 allied bomber, so it’s 7.0/8.0 while lancasters/B17s are 5.76.0.
The Gloster meteor would run circles on Ju-188, Me264, Fw190s and Bf109s. Thus, it’s 7.0/.3 while these are around 5.0-6.0
These planes fought each other, or could have fought each other in real life due to service/production dates.
They don’t in Warthunder (or rarely in case of lancaster-me262)
History has proven that humans are pragmatic enough not to put their aircraft in situations like those in EC sim mode. Countries have air defense systems in a great addition to planes for combating enemy aircraft.
It’s unfortunate that Gaijin and some players treat this game as a “Battle of Robots” show, constantly using the year of production as their main argument. I still hope Gaijin will prioritize proper gameplay over encouraging senseless debates about which plane can outperform another.
