i have a 5 jet lineup for top tier and use the same 2, and they perform well against their respective counters (SM, J-10) and can be beaten, they just need to know how to dogfight with their own aircraft and not use them all the same
Both, but SM also got more powerfull engines

Engines and FMs were inaccurate and underperforming for at least all the Su-27s,
So I highly doubt the fixed everything

While game has ultimative multipath - idk
Multi-path was reduced to 60m. It’s not really reliable on maps that aren’t extremely flat. Also missiles will often times splash damage targets.

yeah happened to me 9 times in sim yesterday so i just stopped playing had a rafale flying at me from 8km and i can’t fire anything at it. aim 9ms won’t fire and the radar wouldnt even lock on

Lmao thats really weird, because playing a F-104S TAS I was dominating the USA team.
Well yes, that’s why everyone eventually went this route. It’s the same story as with speed vs maneuverability.
However, the missiles we have currently still make WVR very viable (in sim). Now we have a fun and interesting, asymmetric gameplay dynamic. Not only that, but each plane is good in the niche it’s actually good in irl, without flipping the roles.
Ofc it’s not perfect, but it has gotten much better.
Now I wish the Russian missiles will get sorted out. R-27ER buffed back to it’s realistic, cracked state and removed from MiG-29As and base Su-27s. R-73 added to all MiG-29s.
I think MiG-29s flight models are mostly fine, I’ve heard complaints only about the MiG-29SMT.
It’s too early to say now, but so far the Eurofighter looks broken.

Yeah MiG-29smt’s flight model and radar are still a dumpster fire.
While we are at it, why not give the Su-39 two R-27R or T aams? It had them irl. I don’t really see a reason it can’t have them in game. Hell, it (could get R-77s as well).
But if they made it so R-27ers were something to be feared again, instead of doing a simple turn and bam they miss, then it may make top tier Russia viable to play with the right skill set.
