Both US SPAA’s have access to advanced high pen ammunition M81A1 at this rather low BR. They are fairly mobile for WW2 settings and have superior gunhandling. Currently most matches around this BR are swarmed with these SPAAs. Their dual autocannon with that much penetration can kill most medium standard tanks. Even frontal kill or crippling shots. As with every rapid firing autogun, they can be easily used out of movement and mostly small maps also contribute to their efficiency.
Something needs to happen. As both SPAA got introduced, their BR was much highter. And the ammunition wasn’t exceptionally better than others. 70 to 80mm penetration for SPAA autoguns was quite common for BRs around 6.0 to 6.7.
But lately more and more players realise how devastating this much autocannon penetration is in low tier matches. Panzer IV have a frontal turret plate of like 50mm. T-34 etc. They all getting zapped by these things. High pen autocannons are never a good idea, when they take out standard medium and even heavy tanks that easily.
So I’d beg Gajin to remove M81A1 ammo belts from both. Its too good vs. ground. Its not neccessary for their SPAA role. Side effect of slaughtering medium standard tanks is too severe, gameplay wise.
The other fix would be to put them back to their initial BR, where they started their unexplainable journey down the ranks lol 4.0 BR…
Gajin why? At this BR range -1 are tank main guns with less pen.
PS: And you all wounder why Panzer IV are close to unplayable. No chance.
Sure they’re a bit OP but they’re not 6.7 OP. They have loud engines, no armor, and hitting the turret ring detonates their entire ammo pool. You should have no problem fighting one unless ur not aware of ur surroundings. 4.3 is fine for them, if you want to obliterate a lineup
I think the M42 can go up to 5.3 with the Ostwind II (honestly worse than the M42) and the M19A1 could definitely go to 4.3-5.0 range. 6.0-6.7 is pretty overkill in my opinion.
You’re just telling me a Panzer IV chassis and a 50cal pennable turret is 6.7 worthy :)
Ok, its the package, I understand. I don’t wanted to say M42 should be like 6.7. But 6.3 is realistic. Its better than the Zerstorer 45.
The M19A1 still has this nightmarish pen. Don’t see why it shouldn’t be 6.3 as well. You can’t match these SPAAs whith low tier mediums. They simply autogun everything except KV1 derivatives. Too opressing. If its about a SPAA gap @ US tree, then simply remove the belt.
Thats right. Its not a good killswitch. That SPAA is not that easy to kill with APHE (won’t fuse). You need HE or HEAT preloaded, which isn’t standard in GRB.
tbh they’re OP I would agree I think its in the top 3 of my fav tanks but not 6.7 op. they survivability is SO bad+no gun depression which I can tell you from experience with this SPAA really sucks
