A US Navy Decal is being offered this month. However you have to drive a ship to obtain it. As a former navel aviator I find this rather insulting. There are a lot of fine US Navy planes in this game. Why not allow play in one of those to count?

Doubtful. A real naval aviator, former or active, would know how to spell “naval.”

Because the Navy is on the water while the airplanes that was operated by the Navy is on the air.
Using this logic I would grind a ground vehicle using a ship.
