True but now it might be a viable tactic to carry a few 3BM42 for followup shots, no? I mean it wont come into play 80% of the time, but I can see it working in those scenarios where both tanks survive the first shot. But thats just theorycrafting on my part.
I’m grinding the BVM so far, and despite not being an absolute powerhouse of a round, the 3BM42 + 6s combo is apparently competitive enough at top tier.
Sure, breach shots are suboptimal and it relies on hull pens to make the most, but it’s still probably being overlooked by many. Once I get 3BM60, I will probably try a 50/50 load of my fourteen rounds, using 42s as followup shots, as you figured out. Though I’ll honestly test it and see if it the switch cycle gets tiring or not lol, if it does, I’ll just stick to mango.
i find at top tier that once you hit like 450mm theres not too much difference if you use the top round or not since you still have to aim for the same weak spots on all the same tanks even when you get the ammo upgrade.
That’s one point to be made, for sure. Though 3BM60 brings some extra pen to the table, allowing you to get breach on 2A5+ leos/Challenger 2s/TKX easier than with mango, so the tradeoff of extra pen for 0.4s+ is still there in my humble opinion.
Survivability of the M1 is probably the best of any MBT that doesn’t have spall liners.
That puts it above quite a few tanks, but not all of them by a large margin.
The tanks with spall liners can situationally have an edge in survivability by quite a large margin.
I’d describe the M1’s survivability is a 6.5/10, Strv 122’s are 10/10’s and the T-80BVM as a 5/10.
UFP should most definitely be counted as a proper armour zone for the M1 together with the turret cheeks. Not a single APFSDS projectile in the game will penetrate the UFP.
As for not being able to find hull-down spots, that seems like a lack of map knowledge issue to me, plenty of maps allow for hull-down powerpositions to be used.
Well, if anything, just give it DU armor in the LFP. So that nothing can penetrate it. Yeah, that’s possible. And also reinforce the turret cheeks and gun mantlet with armor.
No use man, US mains will still hodl W and get shot in the ass, no DU on the engine blocks or side bro. You need consult Tony Stark to use the materials used to build the Mark III, which is advanced gold-titanium that provide superior kinetic energy absorption to deflect or survive direct hits, put these plates all over Abrams from head to toes so maybe US mains will finally achieve 2.0KD on their Abrams.
But beer players on the T-90M and T-80BVM will have to target the Abrams’ weak spots, rather than simply pressing the W button and shooting at the center of the Abrams’ silhouette.
PSO is a bit dogwater compared to the other three because it has an mg turret that is 100 feet tall, which is detrimental to its ability to stealth kill while hull down, like horeshet bro every time I tryna peek with binocular I either get marked by enemy lights then everyone and their stepmoms will look in my direction, feels like I was playing realistic but they are playing arcade with markers. Top tier Abrams has the same issue bro they literally have a landfill zone on top of the turret dome, not only that they are useless and they also make the tank ugly as hell.
That bastard keeps moving so its hard to actually hit that spot, I do made him sit back and repair the barrel like 3 times, one of the shot nuke one crew and object 292 has dogshit zoom so the lines of the crosshair is actually as thiccc as the entire turret lol to make the matter worse it was wash day yesterday I didn’t wear my gaming underwear thats why my aim sucks bro
