US ground vehicle tree on top of the tree, needs a buff

I dont agree with the statement but no F-35s use the meteor irl so none of them should have it.

Its WIP

Should have been done by now, but the US keeps dragging their feet. RAF F-35Bs should have Meteor.

Its actually not a totally unreasonable way to balance the F-35B vs F-35A/C

That’s planned for like 2027 by that logic should the US ones be added with the planned aim260

Sure, when they add Aim-260 equivalents to all nations

Idk what the hype is about meteor, you know Gaijin is going to gimp the shit out of it.

well then no US players are gonna be asking for meteors at that point anyways so this debate wouldnt exist. The F-35 likely wont be added with anything other Than aim120s and aim9s

At a bare minimum, it should have a C&P of the MICA EM seeker, so if absolutely nothing changes, and Aim-120D has the same A/B/C5 seeker, it should be an upgrade just from that.

But the one thing that they cannot get wrong is the massive LSZ on the Meteor, that defines it.

In-game what that basically means is that 99% of the time, the target cannot kinematically defeat the missile, they will be forced to notch and chaff it to defeat it. Opens a lot of options for how to use it

60km right?

right. and if the F-35B got Meteor and the F-35A/C got Aim-120D, I actually think that would be reasonably balanced. A good way to keep airframes that are kinematically very different at the same BR. Even if that included the USMC F-35B getting it too. But the funny part is the US mains saying that only their F-35s should get it and everyone else, including Britian, should have Aim-120Ds

More like 100+

that was the old max range claim, not LSZ

The devs dont realy go by that logic anymore or the F-18E would already have aim120d to make up for its bad FP, they will both likely come to the game with the same loadouts with the British 1 being slightly worse.

No, latest primary sources gives an LSZ of 100+km

I dont have access to it at the moment, but thats from Gunjob

or a more broad reference

So take whatever the AMRAAM (I assume maybe Aim-120C5s? but could also be Aim-120Ds, but dont quote me on that) and multiply it by 3

is the 3x more based on the brochure that says several times more than current AAM? or does it explicitly state AMRAAM

You’d have to ask Gunjob that

But Typically the comaprison is with AMRAAM

well, if it is the “current AAM”, it could very well be MICA because MBDA would obviously have the info for that claim. if its an AMRAAM it could be 120B since that would still be considered fairly modern

If the context is for the Typhoon, then its more likely C5s or C8s that the Typhoon operated prior to Meteor not Aim-120B.

the context is for Meteor not typhoons. you have to consider swedish AMRAAM since Sweden was an early Meteor user too

Brochure claims it has the largest LWZ ever out of all existing AAM missiles.
