Firstly, the Namer and other vehicles like it, such as the Vilkas, have the main problem of their remote turrets rupturing all ammunition when struck. In situations where your team doesn’t have (and often can’t get) a capture point, these vehicles become useless. It wouldn’t be unfair to say you’d be more helpful J’ing out and spawning in a completely new vehicle.
Secondly, with the limited amount of spikes and their well-known problems with accuracy and damage upon hitting a target, having only 4 missiles can be underwhelming. It isn’t uncommon for 4 spikes to barely kill one target even under perfect conditions. To mitigate this, an ammo box would double the Namer’s spikes and make it much more useful as an IFV.
Ammunition Boxes were added to solve these issues and adding one to the Namer could fix them.
UPDATE
To start this, I’d like to provide a simplified history lesson on the newly added Terminator and its distant brother, the Begleitpanzer 57.
The BMP-T is part of a rare vehicle class barely produced in real life. While few vehicles of this class exist, we do actually have another in-game. The Begleitpanzer 57 is a 9.7 Light Tank that fulfills a similar role to the Terminator. Rather than being an IFV, the Begleitpanzer’s main role was to combat infantry, which may threaten nearby tanks. Strangely, despite the Begleitpanzer being a Light Tank, the Terminator was implemented as a Tank Destroyer. Aside from the historical and consistency issues, this wouldn’t be too strange had it happened a few years ago. It would likely have kept the vehicle from receiving scouting at most. The primary problem this creates now, however, is that the Terminator was inconsistently and mislabeled to provide itself with an ammo box.
When comparing the Terminator to any other vehicle in this game from a gameplay perspective alone, the best comparison I can make is to the Namer. While they may not be one-to-one in every aspect, it’s notable that the Terminator has to rely on its missiles for more armored opponents due to the rather weak APDS belts it has. The Namer suffers from a nearly identical issue, but to an even greater extent. At a BR of 11.3, the Bushmaster 2 has an incredibly frustrating firerate and anemic penetration. Its main weapon is the wildly unreliable SPIKE ATGM, which it only gets 4 of, unlike the Terminator’s 4+4.
As I’ve said before, a significant amount of the Namer’s issues would be fixed if it received an ammo box. Without one, the Namer is forced to hug capture points just to stay in the fight.
