Updated Sun City and American Desert and Improved Weather Settings!

IIRC clouds do move ingame

They do not. Dagor does support moving clouds by default, but this is deliberately disabled in-game.

Omg that would be so cool. At least in simulator modes/confrontation/escalation, pls, Gaijin!

Bombs and missiles affected by wind, flight models affected by rain and high altitude icing! Actual sandstorms/blizzards travelling the big map once in a while…

Finally some new cloud and weather logic. Previous clouds have always looked terrible and worse than the legacy clouds

Thanks for bread blog stona

Imho, AB/RB battles should always have a clear weather.

But SB/NE/EC modes should have any weather preset possible, even storms in naval EC! These big modes should show all the might of the game engine, all the atmosphere the game can provide!

So the game will differentiate between modes for grind/casual gameplay (AB/RB) and modes for gameplay (SB/NE/EC)

I used to think that weather was cool in SB until I activated a large booster and decided to do some ground pounding with the premium A10 to grind some. The match I got was cloudy and low sunlight so i couldnt see any of the ground targets and all the TV guided munitions were useless in the low light. Needless to say the booster was completely wasted and the aircraft I chose was useless being it has no thermals or radar to fly in the dark.

Either give good weather or let players activate boosters after entering a room.

Make clouds server-sided while we are at it.

Any word on it would be appreciated.

The only thing I find myself missing is frequency battles featuring distinct weather conditions are quite rare, and elements like rain or a gale always add a great deal of atmosphere.

I get rain in ground sim regularly and it look gorgeous. Even on my lowest setting (because my computer is bad)

sun city seems like an interestion rework for a change.
the open ass spawns werent that fun, especially for spaa.

cool change

now apply this to Southeastern City (why tf it has GTA SA Definitive Edition looking surrounding)

I wonder if they made these maps more flat too! 😂

Has the system itself been overhauled? Right now, if you fly up high enough, you can clearly see the repeating patterns used in cloud formations. Would be nice if they were at the very least big enough to where you couldn’t notice this.

Also: server-side clouds and clouds being effected by nuclear explosions would be cool.

I always thought it was some city in America like Las Vegas

So are clouds server-side now?

Nope.

The clouds we had right after they introduced Dagor 5 engine were very good,
best they have ever been, by a good deal, but . . . they had to munkey around
with them and after Dagor 6 came, never even been close to as good . . .

Just my opinion, but when the “new” clouds came with Dagor 5, I cannot count
how many times I was killed in Air AB because I was staring off into the distance
looking at the clouds and how beautiful they were . . . lol

That has not happened in forever now . . . ☻

Yippee I love when a game dynamic that confers a significant competitive advantage is client-side
