H8K2, H8K3 — an issue preventing the wing-root turrets from firing has been fixed. (Report).
Nuclear Escalation
An issue where SAM systems positioned on high ground would not engage targets flying over water at an altitude lower than the SAM site itself has been fixed.
An issue where SAM systems might incorrectly assign low priority to certain targets has been fixed.
S-75 and HAWK SAM systems now deactivate their search and tracking radars when threatened by anti-radiation missiles (ARMs) at medium to long ranges.
Graphics
A bug that caused ray traced shadows to flicker on aircraft has been fixed. (Report, Report).
Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update. Changes reflected in patch notes are formed by taking reactions and requests of the community from the bug reporting service, forums and other official platforms into account. Bug fixes and changes are implemented in order of importance, for example a game-breaking bug will be worked on and implemented sooner.
So you’ve made the SAMs more powerful. How would they know when they are targeted by passive anti-radiation missiles? By locating them on their radar? If so do you have sources that prove that an archaic S-75 radar for example is able able to locate and track small individual missiles in the first place and secondly in the ranges where their presence now causes them to shut down their radars?
IMO no radar should be able to track missiles unless the capability is proven by confiable source. And in no case at the same ranges as aircraft (basic common sense that wouldn’t require a source). This would’ve saved us from Iron Dome / MCM.
I’m officially done with this gamemode,I can’t possibly dedicate more time to this when y’all not only ignore community feedback but rather go against it without even bothering to explain your reasoning.Back to asking for ARBEC!
What kind of dark magic technology would these radar systems have to detect a missile has been shot at their location because their radars emit radiation?
TV guidance mostly… as soon as you got spotted they would STT with the radar , so the RWR would go crazy (no MAWS) and force a launch, while they had you on the scope and TV guidance. Then they switch off the radar and manually guide the missile with manual commands. It’s not so accurate though, those missiles can’t pull 40G, and in return the SEADs many times used Shrike launches to see where the launchers were preparing bombs or rockets and it wasn’t 1 plane…so they could just bait for the others to close in from low altitude.
Now i don’t know in game what will happen… or even if it will try to simulate TV guidance.
The major problem is not so much that you can’t counter it, as much that all the trouble to kill them means nothing when you can get 600pts and just nuke them with low altitude runs …some even do gun runs…
I’m long done with this mode. The constant buffing of AI SPAA, missiles and radars; SPAA eats up an entire loadout; terrible rewards; being forcefully thrown into ongoing, already lost matches; unnatural convoys consisting entirely of MBTs and SPAA; etc. NE is slowly becoming so unpopular that regular ARB battles suddenly don’t look so bad after all.
