Don’t even need to land the shot at that BR…
Luckily the chances of that happening are next to zero, especially after this round of BR changes that moved so many jets down in BR
M163 at 8.3 would mean that all the 8.3/8.7 SPAAGs would have to move up as well, simultanously there would be even bigger SPAA gaps
You would have died to late WW2 AA regardless. At that range and speed an Ostwind 2 would easily take you out.
there is no way to have player-controlled Nike SAMs in ground battles and still have them be within the ground map lol
Pretty much just overtiered jets, so the M163 is still fine to go up.
Yes, they are quite infamously overpowered.
Not really an issue. Late WW2 SPAA with high velocity autocannons can pull their weight well above their BR. Also, most planes that would be in an SPAA gap aren’t particularly strong so they wouldn’t cause much issue.
Of course, I just got very lucky
tbh, Fakour90s are more enjoyable to use in BVR than AIM120 ever has been. It’ll be okay. It just has a silly/lazy gamestyle now, where you load min fuel… dump your F90s and then go back and rearm. That’s your whole battle, you just have to hope your team lasts long enough between rearming.
Yeah, and tbh, I’m glad it’s well away from the WZ305. WZ305 is a baller that deserves to shine. Love that 57mm HE-VT. The change is fine for Chinese players. WZ305 is more than good enough to cover 8.0-9.0. Then you can use the AHEAD rounds at 9.3 if they take your fancy, or keep using WZ.
“You’re right, I’m sorry, I should not have accidentally moved the 2A7V down to 6.7. That’s on me, and it’s good that you’re keeping me accountable. Would you like to know more about what makes the 2A7V so strong at 6.7? Just ask, and I’ll fill you in!”
yeah its soo god damn amazing they add all these stuff after the event is finished :D
i would have grinded it out if it had the apfsds…but yes, wait till the event finishes and then and only after then add the stuff that makes it unique
Let’s remove the German factor altogether and look at how the Panzer IVs perform in the hands of more experienced players.
Here is the Italian Panzer IV G in June 2026:

And here is the Sherman IC, an Italian premium that by the way is now at a lower BR, also in June 2026:

Oh goodness. Will you look at those numbers. Maybe all the German mains are buying the Italian Pz IV while all the godly players are buying the Sherman, what do I know.
Now, the Finnish Panzer IV J:

This one is not a premium, which at this BR means that its stats are likely to be worse than if it were a premium. However, it is all the same helpful to compare it with a Swedish vehicle that is, once again, 0.3 lower than it in BR:

Ouch.
Now let’s look at tech tree variants to make this fairer. Again, we’re going to look at a vehicle that is lower than the Pz.IVs in BR (or same BR in the Chinese case). This time, it will be the M4A1. Just like we’re ignoring the German Pz.IVs, we’re going to ignore the American M4A1, this way we’re just sticking to minor nations with their more experienced player bases, which should allow us to better evaluate these vehicles.

What’s that? These have a better K/D and KPS than the Finnish Pz.IV? Crazy! It’s almost as if looking at flat pen and stopping there is not a good way to determine a vehicle’s capability.
The Pz.IVs require an infuriatingly passive playstyle to work because of their horrible targeting speed and poor mobility, meaning that you use them as TDs most of the time, while Shermans can actively brawl. In the case of the German players specifically, they teach players this passive playstyle too, which is why you see them cowering behind cover in Tigers and refusing to push later in the tree.
The PAK 40 is an amazing gun, but as a platform, the late Pz.IVs are trash. There are much better options for that gun in the form of the Jagdpanzer IV, the KWI-C, the PAK Puma, all of which are at a higher BR for it.
In fairness, a lot of the Sherman variants were overlooked in the last round of BR changes, and are probably be due for an uptier now that the base model M4A1 is 3.7.
That’s definitely the case for the Composito and Sherman III/IV, though the latter is a fake tank that shouldn’t be in the game anwyays.
Yep, but these numbers were true even when the Pz.IVs were still 3.7, I check them periodically since this discussion keeps cropping up. The ability to brawl and help your team win is just invaluable in the current meta. Of course there are use cases for Pz.IVs when you need a problematic heavy out of the way, but then we’re just back to the TD analogy.
I belive you can aleredy do that if you install custom sight pack.
Getting real “SPAA OP, buff CAS” vibes right now
I mean you are not wrong, that was his whole OG thing before he started mixing it up by adding some “US suffers” to his posting.
You are right, there are custom sights and there even is a spiderweb sight preset in WT, but that doesn’t help with rangefinding
Console players also have the ability to “target” planes to make tracking easier, which honestly should be available to PC players as well
The thing that I’m really asking for is a rangefinder mod for SPAAs that lets you use the rangefinding ability reliably on planes. Currently you have to pixeltrack planes, if you want to get a range and even then, it takes so long, that it tends to be useless.
Right, I forgot who I was talking to
These BR-changes are nice and all, but please for the love of god, can you please work on a severe BR-decompression for ARB? It doesnt even have to be a complete overhaul, but at least 12.0-14.0. There are planes all over these BRs that have no business fighting each other. F4J (UK) can face Fox3s, IRCCM all aspect IR missiles and even planes with AESA radar, yet it is armed with DF Skyflashes and Aim9G. The F16A with no radar missiles what so ever can face the Su30MKK/MK2, J11B. And since there is so many players in the 12.7 bracket due to the premium F18s, all you ever face in a 12.0 jet is at least 12.7, where you can barely defend yourself, because everything has a better airframe AND better missiles, AND better radar. Also, in what world is the Su30MKK/MK2 equal to an F16 A ADF, or a Mig29N? Dont get me wrong, all other BRs are in need of decompression as well, but the differences in capabilities really get obvious as soon as you hit 12.0. Start balancing the game around what can face each other. An F15A, that can go against Mig23s? Thats a sad joke. An F4J facing a Su27/33 or an F2 ADTW? Thats just cruel and borderline unplayable. And now imagine bringing in the Tornado SLE into the equation, that thing regularly has to play against Su30MKK/MK2 and has to defend itself with 2 Aim9/LI and less manouverability then a WW1 battleship with a damaged rudder.
Shiney new stuff is good and all, but the BR-decompression is much more needed right now.
