Merkava Mk.4(all variants), Strv 122 (all variants) — a bug that caused the composite armor on the turret roof to be treated as a solid sheet of steel when calculating protection against high-explosive shells, which could result in an overestimated protection at certain angles of attack has been fixed. Previously due to this bug, these tanks could for example survive hits to the turret roof by heavy air fired missiles and large-caliber bombs.
Interface
A bug that prevented the action to spawn an aircraft with a nuclear bomb from appearing in the action panel when playing as the launcher of a Multi-Vehicle SAM system has been fixed.
A bug on ground vehicles where the laser warning direction indicator was displayed incorrectly if the vehicle’s hull was not pointing directly at the source has been fixed.
A bug where the radar indicator on aircraft could sometimes freeze and stop updating its state when switching the selected radar target has been fixed. (Report).
Replays
A bug where the free camera in replays would become detached from the player after they respawned has been fixed.
Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update. Changes reflected in patch notes are formed by taking reactions and requests of the community from the bug reporting service, forums and other official platforms into account. Bug fixes and changes are implemented in order of importance, for example a game-breaking bug will be worked on and implemented sooner.
Will Gaijin ever fix plywood not fusing HE shells (benefits mostly Soviet aircraft, to a great extent) causing them to deal 0 damage whatsoever unless spar/strut/module is hit (then it explodes)? It’s been broken since May.
Another day being alive to watch gaijin fix the smallest thing before actually dealing with the “high priority” bug the Chuu Tam Sam has had ever since it was added, softlocking itself with a 30 seconds reload.
Some time ago, I noticed that the hit analysis doesn’t register certain types of shells. The hits usually appear only from AP, AP-T, AP-I, API-T, and sometimes Tracer rounds. When I was flying the Mosquito with 20 mm cannons, the hit analysis displayed a message saying that no hits were recorded. For quite some time now, the game hasn’t always shown the “hit” or “critical hit” messages — sometimes you don’t even get points for them during the match, but in the post-battle summary, those hits are still counted and rewarded.
Why do Mavericks do no explosive damage anymore? Before their overpressure damage was really bad for the 50kg of tnt it has but now if they don’t directly hit the roof they don’t overpressure anything. You now have lights/SPAA surviving direct impacts with no damage.
“Hey ChatGPT, We need an excuse to make the Merkava and STRV 122 weaker against the new LMUR we just added, Although we never bothered to rework the Merkava armor even though plenty of evidence exists, and just now we remembered to change a value that remained unchanged for 3 years. Also, please provide no explanation on this calculation at all, and completely hide the fact this nerf is supposed to make russian teams happier, and post it on the forums”
So uhh, this was never a bug (neither was the MK4 LIC turret composite but oh well), this is just a poor cover for a blanket nerf to roof composites, an unsourced one btw, in order to make Russian HE warheads a guaranteed kill instead of the 95% it was before, well done gaijin keep up the good work 😐
2.49.0.63 → 2.49.0.64
Merkava S. 4 “LIC”, Merkava S. 4 B, Merkava S. 4 M: turret roof NERA: armour thickness modifier against explosions and shrapnel: 1 → 0.125
Funny how this clause isn’t being implied to some other MBTs, which are infamous for tanking HE warheads and large caliber bombs to the roofs, but maybe those fixes are in the works 🤷♂️
