There are no sources provided from what i can see though. Only images of the cockpit and your assumptions.
Other users ITT happy with this change too:
EXCELLENT! Hopefully they will finally be more in line with IRL performance 👍
EDIT:
Aw man, yeah I would love to see it applied universally too 🤞
And this nerf concerns all weaker missiles or are things like Iglas conveniently left out?
if only the mouse aim AoA was changed significantly
“such as …” probably means that missiles like igla will probably become less lethal
which could be a fatal blow for those things since the stinger at least has a proxy fuse
use the keyboard controls, gives you “100%” in the direction so its not the smoothest, but does execced the instructor/mouse aim limits
Oh, I will have to test this in Arcade/Realistic. @Master_Teaz @Morvran have you guys tried this? Does it allow for the “max” AOA like you are able to do in SIM?
How does this impact HE from guns?
Standard Mouse aim:
Holding Pitch up key:
literally no difference
then Sim controls for reference:
holding keyboard keys while still in mouse aim brings it to the limit that the instructor will allow, it doesn’t exceed it, it only ever exceeds limits with the AoA limit disable button off
the only times ive got the Harrier to exceed 18 degrees in mouse aim is with flaps on (takeoff flaps : ~19 degrees, landing: ~20), when stalling, or when VTOL is active which is just fancy stalling
The implementation of the instructor mechanic is nonsense in so many ways.
E.g. the second you are in a flat spin the instructor kicks in and blocks every input from the player.
Someone at Gaijin has gone Rogue. Doing changes that make the F-14 better is not allowed!
I dont, though I probably should set up keybinds for it
So, I just took my AV-8B (NA) into an Arcade test match, and it appears that you cannot use/change the AOA mode in mouse aim? Or at least in Arcade?
OH maybe its’ just AV-8B does not have AOA controls? Because I just did a test flight in the F/A-18C Late and the AOA option is available. Hrmmm, do some Harriers actually have the AOA control in game, and some don’t?
EDIT #1:
And/or am I conflating your posts @Master_Teaz between “Full manual/Sim” controls, and the other AOA thing for some planes?
@Morvran I have also tried using the keyboard controls (still mouse aim) to pull as hard as possible, and it still seems to be the same as just using the mouse (again, in Arcade+Mouse controls).

OH! Found it, search for “Maneuver” not angle or AOA:
the AoA limiter toggle thingy is only available for certain aircraft, and Gaijin at the moment isnt going to add it onto other aircraft that had it and that have the necessary primary sources for it (Harriers, Tornados and F-14s are 3 that come to mind that did)
I think the suggestion is setting a keybind to the pitch settings
yeah, they don’t have them, i was talking in general, planes exceeding instructor limits for things,
the way i have to enjoy the extra AoA is the tapping the change control mode button 3 times, not through the manoeuvre limits button
if they don’t change the instructor, might it be possible to add it on the same grounds that the MiG-29 got its one, and was attempted to for the F-14? (I don’t want this, but its a last-case scenario)
though that should only be if the instructor wouldn’t be changed to allow higher AoAs e.g allow ~-27 - 30 degrees in mouse aim, where the plane remains completely stable and also sees a healthy increase in turn rate, without sacrificing much else
And… So what? Drones are easy to shoot at. At that tier, with the current spam of anti-air vehicles… Plus you’re unprotected when using a drone, easy prey for CAS and fast cars rushing the spawn (and spawncamp/kill happens so often you have no idea). So, what’s so unfair, that you can’t camp freely? Oh, poor guy

Why even this modification exist if it not doing anything in any naval mode on any ship? Remove it from all ships or rework it. It’s a waste of RP mod.
