Very nice! A step towards fixing the Spikes!
Next fix in 2 years :)
Actually it is you who cut off the “quote” to alter the meaning.
Actual context: “…shells you mentioned that tend to do funny damage.”
Which means that I am saying that the named shells tend to do the funny damage, me and not the other user. And enjoy the quote of your reply you asked for.
It was clear that Arcade was teasing us.
We said it several times and the realists were all over us.

Edits:
A bug where bomb impact whistling sounds would sometimes not be heard by players on the ground in the impact zone has been fixed.
Spike LR2 missile — armor penetration has been increased from 700 to 910 900 mm. (Report).
Mate i ain’t doing any such thing am just saying that they were sopose to do an in game event to test the change’s and then a vote afterwards if players wanted the change. Instead they forced pushed out a part of those changes without a community vote.
They always said they were going to make this change and significantly buff APHE. The vote was whether we wanted a counter nerf to this that we would get to test first. That was what was voted down.
Eventually this will be fixed as the APHE tanks are all rebalanced at higher BRs, but for now they will be significantly more powerful because that’s what players voted for.
They may try to put up another counter nerf suggestion, but they’ve committed now to that only coming in if people vote for it, which they won’t, so I’m not sure that matters anymore, really.
Following the Roadmap: armor-piercing high-explosive (APHE) shells — the warhead now remains intact after the shell explodes, provided that the mass of the explosive is less than 1.33% of the mass of the shell. This means that in these cases, the warhead will now act as a mini-AP round inside the tank after the initial shell penetrates the armor.
And what about APHE rework? After the Dev Server was closed and the update launched we haven’t heard anything about planned tests or changes.
Dispersion fields from secondary fragments in AP caliber shells — the armor penetration of secondary fragments when a shell penetrates at the limits of its armor-piercing capabilities (for example, when a shell penetrates 284 mm of armor when its penetration capability is 286 mm penetration) has been increased. This means that in these cases secondary fragments will now penetrate more inside a tank and do more damage.
A sad excuse for buffing APHE?
I mean sure, AP should at least be able to kill vehicles instead of painting the crew in different colors.
Just make AP shatter into pieces instead of staying as one solid block.
At least some large metal junks would have a chance to take out some crews.

The trouble with promising, absolutely, pinkieswear, that any future APHE rework will respect the result of a majority player vote on it is it is going to kind of disincentivize them from ever doing one. Why do all that work if there’s at least a 50% chance it could all be a complete waste of time? I suspect that will be pushed off now back into the land of “Soon” and they’ll leave it more to BR rebalances instead. But we’ll see, I guess.

Before today a frontal centermass APHE pen would kill most of the crew, but if you had two left the engine would still work. Now the engine’s dead too. Should be a significant improvement to frontal OSKs for a lot of US/GE/RU mid-tiers. Which is what players said they wanted. I’d just roll with it now. BRs will catch up eventually.
I really hope something will be done against APHE, it was already the strongest shell, oneshooting most of vehicles, now it has cumulated the power of AP shell too… How will this balanced ? By increasing BR of all tanks using APHE ?
All changes to the spikes are welcome but Spike ER still hasn’t received its 170mm Heat Warhead just like every other AGM in it’s category.(I don’t wanna wait another 9 months for a little change)

Yeah, I would keep reading: :)
Looks like this is the counter-nerf to APHE they went with then. (And yes, they added this part after the initial post this morning, which is interesting.)
Buff other shells? - No
Cry about oneshots with APHE? - Absolutely!
You already started following the gaijin’s plot to question the even more busted shell balance, sadly it all goes in the wrong direction.
I dont get it, people speak of an significant aphe buff… its not… u catch an aphe, ure dead…same old story… thats no difference now… jea a small buff… but lets be honest… at the br aühe plays, almost every tank fires it anyways so there not a big change.
And at the end… people voted against making APHE more realistic and therefore less lethal as they are currently ingame… so deal with it… i just wished they would have jist done the rework without asking… who the hell ask for a community feedback? As if the community knows best… lol … they dont!
Community wanted strong cas, helis and all that crap p2w shit aswell… did it improved the game? Hell no! Community lobed broken op stuff… thats what they want and thats what they get.
What do you mean ? I’m not following the plot, I would like that explosive damage was reduced in APHE, even if it will reduce effiency of my “rape setup” with Russian T34s…
i just wished they would have jist done the rework without asking…
The funny part is, their goofing around in public statements on this has given players a permanent veto over one and only one kind of change: APHE reworks. Anything else they can do except that one thing to change the game without passing a majority player vote.
If you have scarce dev resources that’s the last thing you are going to assign them to now. So that’s the one feature, in all of War Thunder, that’s probsbly been permalocked. Everything else needs now to rotate around that one fixed point in possibility space. Hence the buff to AP they snuck into the announcement a few minutes ago. :)
The ZT3A2 getting its own firing sound is interesting because it’s basically useless lmao
Stop with your anti-player nonsense.
They listened to us and they’ll listen again.
The “No” vote won and they still said they would test it so he’s right. They absolutely didn’t listen to the player base.
