Well I got this issue since the last main patch dropped
Also, for over 2 months I have issue playing with friends in squad. Second game in team and my game is “CONNECTION LOST, PLEASE LOGIN AGAIN” every time I selecting vehicle, ammo, camouflage. Restarting game works also for one game, second game with friends bug back again. Playing solo doesnt affect me with it
so pls revert the “improvement” “Not by intelligence”! Previously it was possible to get the reward by scouting a enemy which was already shoot at but this was compensated by the killing of spotted enemies a few seconds after the timeout resulting in no reward. Actually the first side of the scale is “improved” whereas the second side is still unchanged…
Are we all sure this isn’t just a translation problem?
There was always a “not by intelligence” award, no? You always got a “scouted target destroyed” message, without the intelligence award, if a scouted target was already seen by someone before you spotted it and then destroyed after by the person who saw it before you, and a reduced award.
This was to prevent scouts from just following around other vehicles and just putting scout markers on the chevrons when things were hit.
They say this award has changed three ways:
Scouting accuracy at range in Ground RB was increased;
The rules on the existing “not by intelligence” condition were tightened up to include all hits by the allied player;
It’s now more possible to get the full intelligence award in Ground AB in the case of the other friendly player being in a plane, which had a bug before.
Not saying people are wrong to complain, just asking if it’s not just partly the usual Russian-to-English confusion contributing to getting people spun up about this.
I am finding this new HUD not in every GRB match, conquest #3, Iberian castle so far. Edit i see now its just for battle, does look a bit cheesy for WT
Now you cant see how many tickets are left in vehicle selection/ map view and score board. Which is needed for tactical decision making
In game you wouldn’t have seen those words before, you’d have just seen “Scouted Target Damaged/Destroyed”, and gotten a minor reward, no assist or spawn points for it. Showed up the same way on the post-game score card. That mechanic has always been there. It’s not really clear from the changelog what’s changed about it.
Given that the other two changes increase scouting effectiveness and the CAS spawn points you get from scouting in both modes, maybe they needed to balance it down with a small nerf because a lot of people dislike all those planes, I hear. Maybe the old number was 30 seconds and now it’s 60, I don’t know: translation again. Would love to have someone who datamines explain exactly what the change was in words we could understand though.
From the wiki today (they haven’t updated it yet): (link)
"Whenever a target you have an active scout on is killed by an ally during the 30 second window, you receive an additional reward of Research Points and Silver Lions, on top of the smaller reward you received for successfully scouting the target. You also receive an additional, in-match bonus for your efforts, based on gamemode;
* ARCADE - You are rewarded with an additional artillery strike and an air strike point. Reward is granted only if the destroyed enemy was not clearly visible to your ally before the scouting or their destruction, or if the attacker is your squadmate.
* REALISTIC - The Spawn Point (SP) cost of all aircraft in your line-up is reduced by 7%. If you have the ‘Airstrike’ modification, the reduction is 14% instead."
From the (poorly translated) changelog today (link):
In Ground Arcade and Realistic battles, when a scouted target is destroyed by a player who attacked it within 60 seconds before the scouting, the scout is now always given a “Not by intelligence” reward. This also means that the scout will not receive an increase in air strike and artillery points (in Ground Arcade), and a reduction in the cost of spawn points for aircraft (Ground Realistic).
So they’ve added a second “Scouted Target Destroyed” scouting partial failstate, either changing/replacing or additional to what was there before, if the target was visible to your ally at the point of the scout, to also/instead whether they’ve engaged that target up to 60 seconds prior, sounds like. They MAY have changed it from “not clearly visible” to “attacked”, as the only condition here, or both may still apply: it’s unclear if you can still get the same failstate from just the target being “visible” to that ally when you hit the scout button as well. And the air strike and artillery bonuses you get for a successful scout that don’t apply to the “visible” “Scouted Target Destroyed” condition also don’t apply to the “attacked” “Scouted Target Destroyed” condition (assuming both fail states still exist). THAT’s the change, apparently.
(One reason to think the old “Scouted Target Destroyed” mechanic has been modified, and it’s not in some way a new separate mechanic, would be the line about aircraft in the same changelog: " A bug in Ground Arcade battles when destroying a scouted target from an aircraft, the reward “Not by intelligence” was always given, without taking into account whether the player had seen the target before the scouting or not has been fixed." How could there have been a bug in the mechanic already if the mechanic didn’t exist before this? Also “seeing the target” clearly refers to the old mechanic.)
I like the nerf to scouting rewards that literally nobody asked for. Any chance we can have that reversed? I just don’t understand the rager Gaijin has for nerfing and removing every little small reward this game use to give.
Here before Gaijin makes it so you start accumulating a negative score until you destroy another tank/plane/ship or capture a point. Finish the match in the red, you owe them SL and RP :D
